Why Wednesday Season 2  is no longer the “Most Awaited Jenna Ortega Project” 

The hype surrounding Jenna Ortega’s Executive Producer role in Wednesday Season 2 has been on a high in the recent past. However, it can not match up to fans鈥� excitement about her potential roles in major horror films set to be released in the year. The amount of attention she is getting for her possible role in Beetlejuice 2 alongside Michael Keaton is increasing by the day and from what it seems, she has gained popularity for her roles in horror movies. According to Screenrant, Jenna Ortega is becoming a “Certified Scream Queen.” 

Although the release dates for Wednesday Season 2 have not yet been released, it was confirmed through the Show’s official Twitter page, that the show was renewed and would premier soon. Now the focus has shifted to Jenna鈥檚 new project that was announced.

Before Wednesday’s debut, Jenna Ortega was known in various films. Even though Jenna Ortega did films like Jane The Virgin, it is her casting in horror films that gave her the limelight.  She was part of major horror films like X, Scream, You and The Babysitter: Killer Queen and now fans are loving that she is “going back to her horror roots”. 

Jenna gave an exceptional performance as Tara Carpenter in the sequel Scream 6. The film is a sequel to Scream 2022. Jenna stars alongside icons like Courteney Cox, Melissa Barrera, Mason Gooding, Jasmin Savoy Brown and Hayden Panettiere. The scream 6 release date was initially set for 31st March 2023, but it premiered earlier, on 10th March. The film is filled with grisly murders and more causalities than any other film in the series.

The rumour about casting Jenna Ortega in Beetlejuice has become one of the most trending casting announcements of recent horror sequels. Jenna Ortega鈥檚 popularity is majorly linked to these horror films. It will be interesting to see if her following will grow if she adds the movie to her long list of horror roles. 

Beetlejuice is a Tim Burton film he released in 1988. According to Collider news, “the show is the most iconic horror-comedy ever made”. While Ortega will have more creative control over Wednesday Season 2 (as she will work as an Executive Producer on Wednesday), people cannot stop talking about the possibility of her collaboration with Michael Keaton who played the character of Beetlejuice. Fans look forward to Jenna giving her usual impressive performance that has come to be known as her signature. And they seem optimistic that she will not disappoint.

The Beetlejuice film is still in the pre-production stage meaning the trailer might take a bit longer before it is released. In the meantime don’t say Beetlejuice three times.
