Walkers and cyclists can celebrate the plans to widen and add more greenery to the riverside path along the Vltava River in Libe艌. The work is steered by the Prague 8 municipality.

The aim is to create a recreational space that everyone can enjoy. The renovation works will enhance the cycling experience on the path by replacing its surface, widening the path, and designating a separate cycling path away from the road. To boost the natural feel, more greenery will line the sides of the path. To complement the ambiance of the area will be more benches where people can relax and take in the scenic beauty of the surroundings.

Moreover, the current asphalt surface of the path will be replaced with a mixture of mortar and stone paving. This will improve the path鈥檚 texture and appearance. The path will widen to about 3.5 meters, to accommodate more capacity.

Furthermore, cyclists on this path will no longer use the narrow lane which is very close to traffic making it unsafe. To address this challenge, a separate path for cyclists will be built on the slope along Povltavsk谩.

Also, the existing lamp posts will be relocated since they are an obstruction to cyclists. Two staircases with enough bicycle parking space will connect the cycling path and the riverbank. This project will be funded by the Prague 8 municipality at a budget estimate of 50 million Czech crowns.
