Dublin Airport officials have made a major announcement, warning that parking spaces at the airport are sold out for this May Bank Holiday weekend, which is expected to be one of the busiest of the year so far. With 423,000 passengers expected to travel through the airport, departing passengers are being urged to arrive at their terminal two hours before a short-haul flight and three hours before a long-haul flight. 

If you’re planning to fly out of Dublin Airport this weekend, it is highly recommended that you use alternative transport to get to the airport. The Airport Authority has suggested alternative public transport routes including services by Go Ahead, Bus Eireann, JJ Kavanagh, Citylink, Aircoach, Dublin Express, Dublin Coach, and The Airport Hopper. 

Around 220,000 passengers are set to depart from Dublin Airport while 203,000 passengers are expected to arrive between Friday and Monday. So, if you’re travelling during the busiest days, which are Friday and Sunday, it’s important to plan and use public transport or a taxi or be dropped off at the airport.

According to Sarah Ryan, Director of Communications at daa, the coming weekend will see more than 100,000 passengers travelling through Dublin Airport each day. From football fans to holidaymakers and business travellers, the airport will welcome passengers from all over Ireland as well as tens of thousands of tourists from around the world who will visit all four corners of the island.
