Bella Ramsey Pronouns: Everything You Need To Know About Their Sexuality

Bella Ramsey is a British actor who rose to prominence from their role in the Game of Thrones series between 2016 and 2019 as Lyanna Mormont. The 19-year-old actor is also starring in HBO鈥檚 zombie thriller 鈥�Last of Us鈥�, where they are playing the role of Ellie. In this series, they demonstrate their gender identity where they portray a queer teen who survives the apocalypse. This play aroused a series of queries from their fans about their gender identity.  While speaking in an interview with Times, Bella opened up about their gender identity, saying that, they identify as a person and they are not concerned about gender identity. They said, 鈥�Being gendered isn鈥檛 something that I particularly like.”

Speaking to the Times, Bella has come out as a non-binary and gender fluid. People who often labelled them as a 鈥渓ady鈥� or 鈥渨oman鈥� were increasingly bothering them. As a result, Bella went on to reveal their identity. In an interview with the New York Times, they said, 鈥淚 guess my gender has always been very fluid.”  In the same interview, Bella came out to address the struggles they had with gender identity. They added, 鈥淪omeone would call me ‘she’ or ‘her’ and I wouldn’t think about it, but I knew that if someone called me ‘he’ it was a bit exciting.”

Bella doesn鈥檛 pay so much attention to the pronouns that people use on them, however, they dislike it when people refer to them as 鈥淵oung lady鈥� or 鈥測oung woman鈥� which they display on the screen. In an interview with GQ, Ramsey said, “This is what bothers me more than pronouns: being called a ‘young woman’ or a ‘powerful young woman, ‘young lady,’ but I’m just not [that],”

Bella Ramsey has also come out to speak to the criticism that they continue to face from their role as Ellie in the HBO drama series. Some of the fans came out to troll their social media claiming that they did not look similar to the character they were familiar with from the TV series. It is not clear whether the criticism results from their role or the gender identity they portray. However, Bella has since embraced the criticism and they are not anxious about it anymore. They came out to clear the air and said, 鈥淚 know people will think what they want to think. But they鈥檙e gonna have to get used to it. If you don鈥檛 want to watch the show because it has gay storylines, because it has a trans character, that鈥檚 on you, and you鈥檙e missing out.鈥�

However, they added, 鈥�Being referred to as they is the most truthful thing for me. That鈥檚 who I am the most.鈥�  Bella therefore uses the pronouns they/them.
