The Harry Potter franchise is regarded one of the world’s most famous fantasy series. The franchise initially began as a famous book series written by the talented British author J.K. Rowling. It was then adapted to a film series that skyrocketed its fame and popularity worldwide due to its captivating Magic, Wizards, Witches and Quests amongst many others.
The series follows the story of an orphaned boy who enrolls in Hogwarts School of wizardry and witchcraft learns the truth about himself his family and battles the dark wizard Lord Voldemort. At Hogwarts Harry and other first year students get sorted into their houses which are Gryffindor, Slytherin, Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff which become their family, competing for the House Cup, gain and lose points based on actions such as performance in class and rule violations.
Today we are going to focus on Hufflepuffs who are known for justice, loyalty, patience, and hard work. The house colors were yellow and black and their emblem animal a badger. Here are 15 Most Famous Hufflepuffs in Harry Potter.
1. Helga Hufflepuff
Helga was a Welsh witch who became one of the four founders of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The four founders created the school in the Highlands of Scotland to educate young wizards and witches and keep them safe from Muggle persecution. Helga Hufflepuff was particularly famous for her expertise at food-related Charms and it is believed that many recipes traditionally served at Hogwarts feasts originated with her house.
She also introduced house-elves to Hogwarts offering them refuge. Helga was beloved for accepting all students to her house unlike her counterparts who chose to have special students. She led her house with loyalty and hard work, teaching her students to be nice almost to a fault.
2. Theseus Scamander
Theseus is a renowned English wizard who worked as the Auror for the British Ministry of Magic. He was not mentioned in the harry potter franchise rather in the Fantastic Beasts spinoff when he worked with his brother, Albus Dumbledore and other compatriots to work against Gellart Grindewald. Theseus was regarded a war hero after his involvement in the First World War and the global wizarding war that had been began by Grindewald and his acolytes.
3. Newt Scamander
Newt was a renowned Magizoologist, the younger brother to Theseus Scamander and an exceptional English wizard. He attended Hogwarts as a Hufflepuff and was to face expulsion when Albus Dumbledore who was the Defense against the dark arts Instructor at the time saw his innocence and defended him.
He worked in the ministry of magic office for elf-relocation before joining the beast division where he located and took care of magical creatures. He later fought in the global wizarding world defeating Gellart Grindewald and bonding with Porpetina Goldstein, the Auror for the Magical Congress of the United States of America.
4. Pomona Sprout
Pomona Sprout was a powerful witch and exceptionally skillful herbologist. Before she became a professor at Hogwarts she was a student and was Sorted into Hufflepuff where she excelled at Herbology. A short while after graduation she returned to Hogwarts to teach and become the head of Hufflepuff house and the head of Herbology department. She used her skill to grow Mandrakes that were used to cure those who were petrified by Slytherin’s Monster.
In addition, she led a group of students during the Battle of Hogwarts who threw Devil’s Snare and various other dangerous plants onto the invading Death Eaters. Ultimately she survived the war and trained Neville Longbottom who later succeeded her as the Herbologist
5. Nympadora Tonks
Nympadora was a British witch, a half blood and a student and a Metamorphmagus. Tonks attend Hogwarts in 1984 where she was Sorted into Hufflepuff House. She then joined the Ministry of Magic and qualified to become an Auror in 1994 after training under the watchful eye of Alastor Moody.
Tonks then joined the second Order of the Phoenix met and fell in love with Remus Lupin a werewolf. They married in the summer of 1997 and had a son. A year later Tonks fought in the Battle of Hogwarts but was murdered her aunt and death eater Bellatrix Lestrange. After her death, her son was raised by her mother and Harry.
6. Cedric Diggory
Cedric Diggory was a British wizard and one of the main characters in the fourth book in the harry potter series. In 1989 he started attending Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry where he was sorted into the Hufflepuff House. He was a beloved Stuttgart later became prefect and captain of the Hufflepuff Quidditch team playing as Seeker.
In his sixth year he entered the Triwizard Tournament and successful completed two and the three tasks.The final tournament took place in an enchanted maze where the contestants were supposed to locate the Triwizard cup but it was turned into a portkey by by Barty Crouch Jnr.
Harry and Cedric touched the cup simultaneously and were transported to the Tom Riddle’s father grave and where Lord Voldemort was waiting. Peter Pettigrew was then ordered by Voldemort murder Cedric.
7. Teddy lupin
Teddy was the only son to the late Remus lupin and Nympadora Tonks. The half-blood wizard was named in honor of his maternal grandfather Edward Tonks who was murdered shortly before his birth. Teddy inherited his mother’s Metamorphmagus and not his father’s lycanthropy. In 2009 he attended Hogwarts and was Sorted into Hufflepuff House. In his seventh year was appointed Head Boy.
8. Fat Friar
The Fat Friar was born in the 10th century in the British Isles. He joined Hogwarts School at the age of 11 where he was Sorted into Hufflepuff House. He was taught by Helga Hufflepuff in the magical arts the seven years. He devoted his life to religion and the joined the clergy as part of a mendicant religious order spending his life begging for charity.
His kindness was his undoing because fellow clergy grew suspicious at his ability to cure the pox with a wand and his fondness for pulling rabbits out of the communion cup made matters worse. He was soon executed and came back to Hogwarts as a house ghost of his former House, Hufflepuff.
9. Hengist of woodcroft
Hengist of Woodcroft was born in Woodcroft Gloucestershire, circa 987. This medieval English wizard attended Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and was placed in the Hufflepuff and is believed to have been taught by Helga Hufflepuff herself.
He is best known as the founder of the village of Hogsmeade in Scotland after being driven from his home by Muggle persecutors and Three Broomsticks Inn as a home according to legend. Hogsmeade is the only all-wizarding village in Great Britain statue was erected in honor of Hengist in Hogsmeade.
10. Bridget Wenlock
Bridget Wenlock was a famous witch and Arithmancer which meant she studied the magical properties of numbers, predicted the future with numbers and numerology. She attended Hogwarts in her youth and was Sorted into Hufflepuff House. The thirteenth-century witch was famous for becoming the first to establish the magical properties of the number seven. Bridget was also extremely protective of her theorems wrote many of her ideas down in invisible ink.
11. Artemisia Lufkin
Artemisia Lufkin was a powerful witch born in 1754 somewhere in the British Isles. She attended Hogwarts around 1765 where she was sorted into Hufflepuff. She later joined the ministry serving as the first female Minister for Magic for Great Britain. She had made history by becoming the first woman ever to hold the office. She was elected at least twice and served from 1798 to 1811 where she was succeeded by Grogan Stump.
While in office she established the Department of International Magical Co-operation. Furthermore, she appealed for the Quidditch World Cup tournament to be held in Britain during her term. She died in 1825 and to commemorate her legacy she was featured on a Chocolate Frog Card.
12. Grogan Stomp
Grogan Stump was a pureblood British wizard born in 1770 was immortalized on a bronze Chocolate Frog Card. He attended Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in 1781 where he was Sorted into Hufflepuff house. In 1811 he became the Minister for Magic at the age of 41.
He created a legacy through his work on the creation of the Being, Beast and Spirit Divisions for the Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures. In addition, he established the Department of Magical Games and Sports.

Susan Bones was a half-blood witch and a member of the famous Bones family. She attended Hogwarts as a member of House Hufflepuff. Her aunt was Amelia Bones a British witch and celebrated Head of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement.

Hannah Abbot was half-blood witch and one of the many protagonists in the franchise. She was a student in Hogwarts sorted into Hufflepuff House and a long-term friend and classmate to Harry potter and his companions.
She survived the Battle at Hogwarts and married Neville Longbottom the leader of the student rebellion. The couple lived above the Leaky Cauldron where Hannah replaced Tom becoming the Landlady. She then trained as a healer and applied for the job of the Matron at Hogwarts.

When Voldemort returned Harry taught and led an organization against the Dark one which he named Dumbledore’s army. Zacharias was a member of the organization but later abandoned them during the Battle at Hogwarts. He was disliked for his disloyalty to Harry Potter and Hogwarts.
