On the 24th of April, the Westminister Police via their official X handle said, 鈥淲e are aware of a number of horses that are currently loose in central London and are working with colleagues, including the Army, to locate them.鈥� They later confirmed in a statement that, “we’re pleased to confirm that all of the horses have been accounted for. We are continuing to liaise with the Army. “

The British army on their part released a statement stating, 鈥淎n update following the incident yesterday, where some of our horses were spooked in central London. All three soldiers involved are expected to recover fully and return to duty.

Of the seven spooked horses, five tried to bolt and four – Vida, Trojan, Quaker and Tennyson – broke loose. Two of the injured horses were operated on last night, with one transferred to an equine hospital. All remaining horses are being closely observed.

Members of the public who got to witness this rare spectacle had raised concern about both the soldiers who were in charge of the horses and the horses themselves. One X user tweeted, Never a Dull Day in London. Everyone who had raised concerns, they were reassured that both the men and the horses were okay and were undergoing treatment for those who encountered some injuries. 

The statement read, 鈥淥ur horses receive the highest standards of care, and those who did not undergo surgery are expected to return to duty in due course. We want to thank everyone who has shown such kindness and concern towards our soldiers and horses. We will provide more updates soon.鈥� In a later statement, they said, 鈥淭he horses of the Household Cavalry have now been returned to Hyde Park Barracks and are undergoing veterinary care.鈥�
