History enthusiasts will now enjoy Prague’s history of 800 years interactively. This is now possible at the Story of Prague Museum near Charles Bridge. The facility opened on Tuesday 30, April 2024. It uses the latest virtual reality technology to take visitors through Prague’s medieval era to the Velvet Revolution.

The museum took three years to create, and at least 100 contributors involved from diverse fields. Thus visitors can expect a display of Prague’s most interesting milestones. Some of the features include a virtual audio guide available in five languages. Visitors can access the guide using the museum’s app. With your headphones connected, you will be guided through the museum. There are also many interactive photo points and special effects to enhance your experience.

Moreover, visitors will have plenty to see across the museum’s three exhibition floors. You will immerse yourself in unique stories through film and audiovisuals.

Additionally, the first floor displays Prague’s medieval and Renaissance eras. The second floor covers recent history such as World War II and the communist period. On the third floor, you will find materials from the recent past to the present. Some notable items are from the 1989 Velvet Revolution that ended communism. You will also find information on the key opposers of the communist regime like President Václav Havel.

Beyond the exhibits, the museum has a cinema and an art room. You can also enjoy views of Prague from the museum. It opens daily from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Museum officials welcome visitors to enjoy Prague’s rich history through immersive experiences using the latest technology.
