The sunny days are back in Â鶹APP, and spring is bringing new colors to the city. Cherry trees are in full bloom at this time of year, which is synonymous with renewal, as the Japanese celebrate Hanami.

The Parc de Sceaux will once again host the joyous and fun-filled celebration of Hanami, the Japanese spring festival. Anyone who wants to learn about the Hanami tradition or simply enjoy springtime is welcome to visit the Domaine départemental de Sceaux from March 30 to April 28, 2024, culminating in a weekend of festivities on Saturday, April 20, and Sunday, April 21, 2024.

This year, the Département des Hauts-de-Seine is going all out with a series of events celebrating Japanese culture, including cherry blossoms. There’s something for everyone, from a blossom exhibition, mini-concerts, and Japanese dance to origami and Japanese folding workshops, as well as demonstrations of Ikebana, the traditional Japanese art of flower arrangement.

Don’t forget about the Hanami picnic sessions in the park, which will be open from April 1 to 28, 2024. Parc de Sceaux recommends avoiding the north and south bosquets, which are generally crowded and “victims of their own success” if you want some peace and quiet. The park advises against settling down at the foot of the cherry trees, preferring “specially landscaped areas in the vicinity“. Parc de Sceaux also emphasizes the importance of respecting the natural environment.

So, why not celebrate spring with the flowers?
