After gaining prominence in the series, he faked his death and exited the popular ITV soap in 2021. He then moved on to play the role of Mark Newton in the romantic drama film 鈥淚n from the Side鈥� in 2022. This LGBTQ drama tells a story about two men playing rugby who develop feeling for each other and embark on a love affair. This debate would also elicit an overwhelming concern from his fans about his gender identity. Some of his fans reacted on his Instagram saying, 鈥�I loved the movie,鈥� they said, 鈥渁nd its actors are still very handsome but I still think that the actors are posing as gay but they are not. Is it my doubt?鈥� Lincoln went on to confirm the doubts and clear the air concerning the comments. He replied, 鈥淭hanks so much 鈥揳ppreciate it!!!! And no, I鈥檓 not straight鈥�.

In an interview with Attitude, Lincoln addressed the hotly contested topic and cleared the air about his stand on sexuality. He said, 鈥淢y view has always been of sexuality as a spectrum, and I鈥檝e felt most in tune with myself when I鈥檝e not prescribed any labels to it鈥�. He went on to add, 鈥淔or me, sexual attraction has always been more to do with the person than their gender鈥�. However, this is his view and feeling about gender identity and sexuality. He further explained that according to him a person鈥檚 sexuality should not entirely define you as a person. There is so much more that defines a person and a person鈥檚 sexuality should not necessarily define that.
