While he was in the army, Bernhard was stationed in southern Germany. This is where he met his wife Doris Aude Ascher.
They got married in 1954. Bernhard Caesar Einstein and Doris Aude Ascher had five children.
Their children include Thomas Martin Einstein born in 1955 in Switzerland, Paul Michael Einstein born in 1959 in Switzerland, Eduard Albert Einstein born in 1961 in Dallas, Mira Einstein-Yehieli born in 1965 in the US and Charles Quincy Ascher Einstein born in 1971 in the United States.

Bernhard became a hard-working engineer who worked with several organisations and companies. He moved to California where he worked at Litton industries in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Bernhard’s area of specification and expertise was electron tube technology. He specified more on light amplification devices for night vision.
Bernhard went ahead to file and obtain four United States patents related to light amplification while working for Litton industries. After this major event, Bernhard relocated to Switzerland in 1974.
He began working in laser technology at the Swiss Army Research Lab. Here, he also obtained a further US patent.
