10 Best Restaurants in Pigneto, Rome
Once you get to Rome, you’ll hear the word “Pigneto” come up regularly when in conversation about where to go, what to do, and what to eat.
Pigneto is a small outlying neighborhood just outside of the easternmost boundary of the city. In comparison to other neighborhoods in Rome, it’s an extremely diverse area with a vibrant immigrant community. One that has brought the food from their homelands into Rome.
Pigneto is also where you can almost always enjoy late night dining when the rest of the city has gone to sleep.
1. Vitaminas 24 in Pigneto, Rome
In another comparison to other neighborhoods in Rome, Pigneto actually has an abundant vegan food scene; something not always easy to find in the city center.
Vitamins 24 is a small yet incredibly inviting little spot, serving up the very best vegan and gluten free dishes that Rome has to offer (in my opinion). The entire menu is organic; a combination of soups, wraps, burgers and bowls all made with fresh, wholesome ingredients.

2. Mesob Restaurant in Pigneto, Rome
Mesob is a hidden gem, not only in Pigneto, but in Rome as a whole.
This is a cozy space serving up traditional Ethiopian food. If this is not a dining experience you’ve had yet in life, I highly recommend making some time to do so.
Each of the ‘wats’ are served alongside all you can eat injera bread. In classic Ethiopian dining one does not use cutlery but rather one’s hands and bread in place of the utensils.
Mesob is highly vegan friendly.

3. Kalapà in Pigneto, Rome
Across the globe we go again, but this time Pigneto takes us to Greece. Don’t let the informal dining situation deter you, Kalapà is one of Rome’s more traditional Greek dining spots with a phenomenal menu.
They do classic souvlaki, many dip and bread plates and a few meaty dishes for all the carnivores. They also import beers from Greece, so expats missing home like to come drink here.
