magazine has released a list of the world鈥檚 20 best cities for food in 2024, and Porto is one of the ultimate culinary destinations to visit right now. Indeed, one can hardly claim to know a city if they do not know its eatery scene, in and out. The list is a selection of the highest scoring cities in terms of the food quality and affordability. Locals were asked to rate their city鈥檚 food scene on these two factors, and a final list was compiled by the magazine鈥檚 global network of editors.
Portugal鈥檚 second city ranked 14th in the top 20 best cities to eat and drink. Porto, known for its canned fish delicacy has much to offer when it comes to its diverse eatery scene. Its food joints are a fusion of cozy old and the sophisticated new. Whether in the mood for a quaint tavern dinner, a traditional restaurant serving up meals the old fashioned way or an elegant, fine-dining experience, the city offers it all. As for food, Portuguese cuisine truly shines, with tasty choices like francesinha (stacked sandwich), shellfish, and port wine from Douro valley.
Topping the cities鈥� list is Naples, boasting its famous Neopolitan pizza. Johannesburg came in second place, with its diverse continental cuisine. Lima, Ho Chi Minh City, Beijing, Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Mumbai, Dubai, and Portland complete the top 10 in that order.
