Adam Silver Officially Stans French Phenom
In what could have been an ordinary draft season, the hype surrounding this year’s draft is crazy thanks to Victor Wembanyama’s presence.
The French prodigy has been the talk of the town for some time now and fans cannot wait till he gets drafted to the NBA to see him play.
Victor is the highest draft prospect since LeBron James and his hype and buzz keep getting intense as the draft day beckons.
With less than one month away till June 22, 2023, happens, we already have a clue where Victor might end up going.
The NBA Draft lottery held on Tuesday, May 16, 2022, was a good day for the San Antonio Spurs who were lucky enough to land the first pick in the upcoming draft.
With Wembanyama expected to be the first overall pick, it is safe to say that Victor will be going to San Antonio come June.
We could tell the San Antonio Spurs were ecstatic about the potential to select Wembanyama in the 2023 NBA draft based on Peter Holt Jr.’s response after the San Antonio Spurs won the lottery for the first pick in the 2023 NBA Draft.
But you would ask yourself, why would anyone be excited to draft Victor, isn’t he an ordinary human being?
Well… No! not at all. He is a uni… No! not a unicorn he is an ‘Alien’ according to LeBron James and let us tell you why. Wembanyama is 7’4″ tall, has an 8-foot wingspan, and makes accurate three-point shots.
He is renowned for both his skill and general playing approach. Victor will undoubtedly find it simpler to accomplish plays that other players will find challenging because of his alien-like height.
Given his strong ball-handling abilities and quick first step, he can outrun the defence despite his height and make the shot.
A combination of his accurate and deadly shooting from beyond the arc guarantees him he to adjust to the NBA quickly.
All these features in one person give you an impression of who he is and coming to the NBA, he’ll for sure be a dominant force.
What stands out most though is his 7’4” height which will make him one of the tallest players in the NBA once he gets in. Being a point of scrutiny all over, NBA’s Commissioner couldn’t help but notice how tall the French sensation is.
During his draft lottery broadcast on ESPN, NBA Commissioner Adam Silver said,” He’s an incredible young man.
He’s 19 years old and I didn’t take out a yardstick or meter stick or whatever they use in France, but he seemed all of 7’4” to me. He appears to be a generational talent.”
Silver admits that for sure Wembanyama is a generational talent and an incredible young man. He however assumes Wembanyama is 7’4” by just looking at him because he didn’t take out a yardstick or meter stick to measure him.
Well, Adam, the fact remains Victor is 7’4” and is NBA-ready so be prepared to call his name come June 22 during the lottery.
With acknowledgement from notable people and now NBA Commissioner, things are finally going well for Victor to just get to the NBA and take over already. It looks like we are running out of time to watch him hoop in the NBA.
However let us not tire since it is less than a month to June 22 when we will finally get to see the teenage sensation get to where he belongs, The NBA.
