The 29th edition of , UK’s renowned artist-curated music festival is here. Set to run from 14th to 23rd June, 2024, the festival will feature various shows by a selected line-up of artists by the ‘Queen of Funk’, Chaka Khan. Each year, Meltdown invites one artist to bring their musical influence to South Bank Centre with their chosen line-up of stars from art and culture.

Khan has had a five decade-long career, gaining worldwide success and impacting generations of artists across board. She will kick off the festival’s offerings by her Royal Festival Hall concert this Friday, (14th June) to celebrate her musical career.

Her Meltdown bill is extensive, featuring several established icons, and lesser discoveries as well. There will be headline performances from Malian supergroup Les Amazones d’Afrique, DJ Norman Jay, singer Emeli Sande, collective Speakers Corner Quartet, Mica Âé¶¹APP, award-winning jazz artist Judi Jackson, just to mention a few.
