Rome is paying tribute to the legendary Italian artist Carla Accadi with an exhibition of her works in the Palazzo delle Esposizioni. This exhibition runs from March 6 to June 9, 2024, to allow locals and visitors to learn about the late, famous artist. The exhibition was planned to mark one hundred years since Carla Accardi was born; in 1924.

Carla was a known abstract painter whose works included paintings, sicofoil works, conceptual works, and public art. Her wide range of art allowed her to create over one hundred pieces of art throughout her career.

Daniela Lancioni and Paola Bonani have collaborated to bring together more than one hundred pieces of work by this legendary artist in one place. It is through this display that many will learn a little bit about Carla’s history.

She was born in the Silician city of Trapani in 1924 and moved to Rome when she was twenty-two years old. Upon arrival, her talent was recognized, and she quickly became a key figure in the city’s avant-garde circles.

In the 1970s, Carla’s black-and-white abstract paintings were unique as she showed artists how to embrace vibrant and intense colors while using sicofoil and transparent plastic. Among many other things, such as leading the feminist movement, Carla Accardi’s life is worth commemorating in the museum.

While in Rome, head to the Palazzo delle Esposizioni and have a glimpse of what Carla Accardi created and left behind.
