March is a unique month in Rome and most parts of Italy and beyond. One thing that makes this month stand out is the unpredictability of the weather. The month is the border between spring and winter. Therefore the temperamental transitions could make you spend time in your houses. For example, sunny days in Rome during March can be suddenly interrupted by showers or gloomy weather.

Secondly, although sunshine is the common weather in the month, be prepared for unexpected downpours that would possibly leave you stranded in the streets. In addition, this month can bring strong winds during the storms.

If you are not prepared you will not be able to visit Palatine Hill. This is the place where one is privileged to have a panoramic view of the Roman Forum and the Colosseum. However, heavy rains make the place difficult to navigate. Therefore if you were unlucky to be in the city on a rainy day, Palatine Hill will be out of reach for you.

Therefore, prepare in advance while visiting the city in March. First, look at the daily weather forecast, and carry the necessary equipment and clothing with you.
