Budapest Tops in Tourist Bookings and Reservations

It’s easy to see why Budapest, the capital of Hungary, is a hive of activity. I mean, there is something for everyone in this place, from activities that are kid friendly to one of a kind night life. Many people visit Budpest and true to this, an estimate of 7.1 million guest making reservations in the first three months of this year.

reports that the tourist industry had exceptionally good quarterly results (NTAK). According to, the lodging facilities surpassed last year’s quarterly numbers by 14%.

The National Tourist Information Center’s statistics indicates that, except from Budapest, every tourist destination has seen a notable increase in the turnover of lodging. Essentially, Budapest welcomed 1.2 million visitors between January and March, which is 23% more than during the same period in 2023.

The (MTÜ) reports that domestic tourists accounted for 72% of the overnight stays but a sizable portion of the visitors were foreigners. 1.4 million foreign visitors have stayed in Hungary for 3.7 million nights by March from Germany, UK, and Italy.
