He is a British novelist, screenwriter, and short-story writer known for his novels A Pale View of Hills, An Artist of the Floating World, The Remains of Day and Never Let Me Go. When Kazuo was young he attended Stoughton Primary School in Surrey. He enjoyed listening to songs by Leonard Cohen, Joni Mitchell, and Bob Dylan. At this point in his life, Kazuo began learning guitar and writing songs in hopes of becoming a professional songwriter. After finishing school in 1973, Kazuo took a gap year and traveled through the United States and Canada.

2. He Decided to Study English After Pursuing Music

While he took a tour of the United States and Canada, he wrote a journal and sent some of his demo tapes to record companies. In 1974, Kazuo began studies at the University of Kent at Canterbury and graduated in 1978 with a Bachelor of Arts in English and philosophy.

He went on to study at the University of East Anglia where he studies with Malcolm Bradbury and Angela Carter on the UEA Creative Writing Course. He graduated with a degree of Master of Arts in 1980. His thesis A Pale View of Hills was his first novel and was published in 1982.

Kazuo first gained critical acclaim for his second novel An Artist of the Floating World in 1986. His third book, The Remains of the Day, earned him international recognition. It should be noted that Kazuo’s rise to fame was at a slow and steady pace. After the success of his third novel, Kazuo’s career began to peak and this encouraged him to continue writing books. In addition, he was famous for his Booker Prize-winner through his novel called The Remains of the Day in 1989. Further, he has become the most deceptive storyteller and writer in English. 8. He Has Received a Number of Accolades

Over the course of his career, Kazuo has been the recipient of the most notable honors and awards. In 2017, Kazuo was awarded the Novel Prize in Literature. His novel The Remains of the Day earned him the Booker Prize in 1989.  In 1995, he won the James Tait Black Memorial Prize. He later shared that they met at the West London Cyrenians homelessness resettlement worker. Their daughter Naomi Ishiguro is also a well-known author and her most famous work is the book Escape Routes.
