But Ptolemy XIII was quickly persuaded to attempt an overthrow of Cleopatra by his advisors. After being forced to leave Egypt, Cleopatra defeated Ptolemy XIII in 48 BC when she returned with an army of Romans.

Caesar’s adopted son Octavian beat Antony and Cleopatra in 31 BC. Antony killed himself, and it’s believed that Cleopatra ended her own life by being bitten by an asp, a poisonous snake.
