20 Most Popular Songs on TikTok 2021

TikTok is one of the most popular social media platforms with over 40 million weekly users. Even Facebook didn’t do this well at the peak of its usage. Anyway, because of how popular it is, so much content is usually put out on this platform and so many content creators have found a home here. Usually, the videos you will find on TikTok are usually accompanied by pretty sweet and melodious songs or even sometimes funny songs to try and explain what the content is all about. So what are some of the most popular songs Tik Tok offered in 2021? Here’s a list.

1. Baby Girl by Disco Lines

.

In 2021 this song was all you would hear when you open your Tik Tok. To be fair though, it is a pretty catchy song and has such a playful vibe to it. It gives also the 80s retro disco vibes, it is no wonder it is called Disco Lines. It is not a very long song but it sure is very catchy.

2. Coke & Rum by Gee Lee

.

Another popular Tik Tok song that took the tik tok streets by storm. It’s a pretty good song, especially for girl power, given how it talks about girls wanting to have fun and telling him to move on if the man doesn’t want to. It was very popular among girls doing content relating to girl power and sisterhood.

3. Sun and Moon by Anees

.

This reggaeish song was something. It’s quite catchy and just very romantic. Every couple looking to appreciate their significant other would have this song on repeat. To be honest, it gives this sunshine and a happy mood that promises you of good memories. Quite nostalgic.

4. Sleazy Flow by SleazyWorld Go

.

This song with a hip hop kind of vibe and beats was another popular one and it would be so common watching guys dripping to it on Tik Tok. It is also quite a deep song, addressing deep societal issues in this day and age of social media and technology.

5. My Money Don’t jiggle jiggle it folds by Louis Theroux

.

I remember watching so many cute videos of pets and children dancing to the song in their attempt to show how life’s good for them. It was quite a trendy sound on Tik Toj and rightfully so. Anyone who wanted to flex a bit and show that life is pretty good had this sound as their anthem.

6. In my head by Lil Tjay

.

This remix of ‘Replay’ by Iyaz was another catchy one that truly took Tik Tok by storm. Can’t really blame the song though. It is pretty good and danceable even. No wonder everyone on Tik Tok was dancing and dripping to it. It sure has the vibe and the beats for that. Try listening to it. You’ll definitely find yourself vibing and dancing to it. I promise!

7. Techno and Tequilla by Disco Lines

.

Another one by Disco Lines, this is another song that really became popular back in 2021. It has a techno vibe to it which isn’t surprising because of the title but more than anything else it really is catchy. Most content creators making videos about clubbing and nights out would use this sound and it would fit very well. It is a phenomenal song quite honestly.

8. Better Off Without me by Matt Hansen

.

This song is a bit different from the others I’ve mentioned above. It is quite a sad and heartbreaking song. Any video that wanted to talk about what could have been and heartbreak had this sound as its anthem. I love the melancholy feeling it brings about. If you’ve ever been heartbroken before, you can very well resonate with the song. Hensen did well with this one. I hope someday he gets to blow up and even win the Grammys.

9. Angels don’t f*** by Insincere

.

This is another song with a melancholy kind of vibe to it. It addresses deeper issues and uses the analogy of angels and demons metaphorically. It is an okay to me but in 2021 nevertheless, it blew up. It was a pretty common and popular sound.

10. Haunted by Isabel LaRosa

.

This heartbreaking song is another tik tok song that became really popular in 2021. It is the perfect song to address a ‘what could have been’ situation. This could be why it was popular. After all, everyone can resonate with heartbreak. Whether it’s the case of unrequited love, being dumped or cheated on.

11. Icee Pop by Nic D

.

I absolutely loved this song. I still do. It has a very catchy vibe and above everything else, it is very danceable. You can easily sing along to it and improve your moods. The funny thing about it is that it is a bit sad yet happy at the same time. I can’t quite a finger on what I’m feeling every time this song plays.

12. Maytag by Ben Reilly

.

This hip-hop song was also quite something. Every wannabee rapper on Tik Tok was using this sound. Can’t blame them. It is quite truly such a catchy song. You can dab, drip and definitely dance to it while having fun at the same time. I love how Ben played around with the hip-hop genre in this one.

13. Fat Funny Friend by Maddie Zahm

.

I definitely remember this song! Every Tik Tok video I came across using this sound would just be outright heartbreaking. Why? Because it is definitely relatable. Any girl out there who has ever been duffed or overlooked by the opposite sex while their best friend got all the attention because they are prettier and flawless can definitely relate to it. Most of the videos would have girls crying while making the content. Oh, man! So heartbreaking!

14. Playboy by Jx. Zero

.

This song that adopted the hip-hop genre was also a very popular Tik Tok video in 2021. It gives more of a gangster kind of atmosphere and I bet that’s why it really took on.  Every playboy in the book definitely related to the words of the song and that’s why they were all very enthusiastic about making content with this sound as the sound.

15. Abcdefu by Gayle

.

This one is really a cute song and heartbreaking song. It is actually talking about a scenario where she gets played and now she is over it. I love how she used the alphabetic letters to basically this person who broke her broke her heart to eff off! That’s why I think it’s cute even though it is a song that basically helps you channel your anger to that one person who broke your heart.

16. Pope is a rockstar by SALES

.

This song was another popular one and I totally understand why. I totally love the 80s punk rock it gives and the feeling of nostalgia I get when just listening to it. I remember most of the videos I would click on on Tik Tok had this very catchy song added as its sound. Especially the intro bit of it with the soft guitar and drums. This song would definitely be perfect for a long road trip out on a sunny day with the wind on your face and hair. I can already picture it.

17. I used to Care by Louyah

.

This song is hands down the best danceable and very catchy song I know on Tik Tok. It’s ironic I know given how it is more of a heartbreak song but it really is a good song. The beats and vibe it has are just quite contagious. You will definitely find yourself singing along to it. I also love the way it talks about moving on and forgetting about everyone you decided to leave in the past. Any Tik Tok video that wanted to happily talk about moving on and having no regrets whatsoever had this as its sound.

18. Airplanes and What’s My Name by Nat Amanda

.

This song was done brilliantly. The mash-up of two very beautiful and popular songs came up with this masterpiece. What’s even more the melancholy feeling it gives thanks to the violins playing in the background makes it even more beautiful. It is not a long  song, but it will really impress you once you listen to it.

19. Good 4 You by Olivia Rodrigo

.

Any Tik Tok content that was trying to feign not caring at all because your ex-lover moved on, had this sound as their anthem. I love how the song embraces how difficult moving on can be sometimes and even though we fake an “I couldn’t care less” attitude, the truth is, deep down it hurts.

20. Heartbreak Anniversary by Giveon

.

This is a typical heartbreak song and it really broke the internet. As I mentioned before, anyone can resonate with heartbreak and thus any song that talks about heartbreak will be automatically embraced. This song was no exception. Any video that wanted to reminisce on heartbreak definitely had this sound to their videos.
