10 Things to Know about Christiano Ronaldo’s Love Life

Regarded as one of the greatest football players in history, Cristiano Ronaldo is also one of the most famous sportsmen in the world today. With over 500 million Instagram followers, 161 million Facebook followers, and over 100 million Twitter followers, he is the most followed person on social media. 

Although his exploits on the football field are well documented and in the public domain, his love life details are scanty as he tries extremely hard to keep his private life away from public scrutiny.

Despite the fact that he is a father to five children, Cristiano Ronaldo has never been legally married. His first child was born on 17 June 2010, of whom he has full custody but he has never publicly revealed the identity of the mother.

He also became a father to twins born on 8 June 2017 in the United States through surrogacy but the details surrounding their birth are also not publically available. His first child with Rodriguez was born on 12 November 2017 and his second pair of twins were born in 2022, but one twin reportedly died during childbirth.

2. He has stayed with his current Girlfriend since 2017

Although they are not legally married, Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodriguez have been in a relationship since 2017. The couples have two kids together and are currently living in Saudi Arabia where Ronaldo plays for the Saudi Professional League club Al Nassr.

According to the Spanish football newspaper AS, Rodriguez met  Ronaldo at a Gucci store in Madrid, where she was working as a shop assistant. The couple has been together ever since.

In a TV interview with Piers Morgan in 2022, Cristiano revealed that he wants to marry Georgina Rodriguez but at a later date. Both Ronaldo and Rodriguez often share their love for one another publically on social media and Rodriguez has been providing glimpses into their relationship in her Netflix series, I am Georgina.

3. His relationship with a Russian model lasted for five Years

Out of all the romantic relationships Cristiano Ronaldo was involved in before settling down with Georgina Rodriguez, his relationship with Irina Shayk was the most widely known. The couples were together from 2010 until 2015 when they ended their relationship.

Irina Shayk is a Russian supermodel and television personality who received international recognition after she appeared on the cover of the 2011 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue.

They first met on the set of an Armani Exchange advertisement and soon after started a relationship that was well publicized. The couple broke up in 2015 in what was described as “like a death” in the family by Ronaldo’s sister.

4. He dated Miss Universe Spain 2014

A few months after ending his relationship with the Russian model Irina Shayk, Christiano Ronaldo was reported to have gotten into a new relationship with Desiree Cordero, a Spanish model, and Miss Universe Spain 2014.

The couples were reported to have first met on social media before exchanging private messages that led to the relationship. However, the relationship did not last and it ended a few months after it started.

Rumors had it that Ronaldo ended the relationship after he became suspicious that Cordero only got with him to gain publicity rather than genuine affection toward him. 

5. His first known Girlfriend was a sister to his teammate

Jordana Jardel is the first known Cristiano Ronaldo’s serious girlfriend after he became a professional football player. She is a Brazilian model and a sister to Mario Jardel, his former teammate at Sporting Lisbon.

The couple’s romantic relationship started in 2003 but it soon died out and they soon broke up after being together for less than one year.

From January 2005 to September 2006, Cristiano Ronaldo was romantically involved with Merche Romero, who is nine years his senior. She is a Portuguese model and TV Presenter of Andorran descent. Merche is believed to be his longest-lasting girlfriend while he was in England playing for Manchester United.

Cristiano Ronaldo did not explicitly confirm nor deny their relationship, although they were often spotted together on holidays and at various prestigious events. However, on 20 September 2006, Merche announced the end of their relationship, while being interviewed on a Portuguese television show.  

7. He dated Karina Ferro at the start of his Career

Although very little is known about their relationship, Cristiano Ronaldo and Karina Ferro were romantically involved in 2002. This was around the time he was starting his professional football career and still playing in his homeland.

At the time Karina Ferro was a model and a student of journalism and photography. They were often spotted together on the beaches enjoying each other company before they parted ways a few months later.

After it was reported, the relationship between these two celebrities captured the imagination of their fans though for only a short period as the couple broke off a few months later.

Soraia Chaves is one of the most famous actresses in Portugal who appeared in the popular Portuguese TV series Dancing Days. She was also a leading actor in the film, call girl, which was the highest-grossing film in Portugal in 2007.

9. He was linked to a pretty Spanish TV presenter

Soon after he broke up with Irina Shayk in early 2015, Cristiano Ronaldo was briefly linked to Lucia Villalon, a pretty Spanish TV presenter. However, Ronaldo’s family rubbished claims, stating that the relationship did not even exist.

10. He had a brief relationship with a Spanish model, Nereida Gallardo

At the start of 2008, not long before he moved to Real Madrid from Manchester United, Cristiano Ronaldo was reported to be in a relationship with a popular Spanish model, Nereida Gallardo.

However, the Portuguese winger ended the relationship eight months later after his family became upset by Gallardo’s old topless photos that were published by a Spanish magazine.
