Kowalkiewicz made her professional debut in her native Poland in May 2012. Over the next three-and-a-half years, she amassed an undefeated record of seven wins against no losses. She fought primarily for the Poland-based KSW promotion – where she was the Flyweight champion.
2. She made her United States debut in 2014
Kowalkiewicz made her U.S. debut for Invicta FC in November 2014. Invicta Fighting Championships, also known as Invicta FC, is an American professional mixed martial arts (MMA) promotion dedicated to Women’s mixed martial arts that was founded in 2012 by Janet Martin and Shannon Knapp.
Karolina defeated Mizuki Inoue, a Japanese female kickboxer and mixed martial artist. Inoue won the 2010 Jewels -56 kg Rough Stone Grand Prix tournament at 16 years of age, becoming one of the youngest female champions in a major MMA promotion. Karolina won the bout in the third round.
3. Karolina joined the Ultimate Fighting Championship in 2015
The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is an American mixed martial arts (MMA) promotion company based in Las Vegas, Nevada. In late October 2015, it was announced that Kowalkiewicz had signed with the UFC.
She faced Randa Markos on 19 December 2015, at UFC on FOX 17. She was successful in her debut, winning the fight by unanimous decision.
Kowalkiewicz next faced Heather Jo Clark on May 8, 2016, at UFC Fight Night 87 in Rotterdam, Netherlands. She won the fight via unanimous decision.
4. Karolina defeated Rose Namajunas at UFC 201
UFC 201: Lawler vs. Woodley was a mixed martial arts event produced by the Ultimate Fighting Championship held on July 30, 2016, at Philips Arena in Atlanta, Georgia.
This was the third event that the organization hosted in Atlanta, following UFC 88 in September 2008 and UFC 145 in April 2012. So, the event was very special for Karolina an amateur in the fight.

Cláudia Gadelha is a retired Brazilian mixed martial artist who competed in the Women’s Strawweight division of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). UFC 212: Aldo vs. Holloway was a mixed martial art held on June 3, 2017, at the Jeunesse Arena in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

8. She won against Jodie Esquibel at UFC Fight Night: Cerrone vs. Till
UFC Fight Night: Cowboy vs. Till also known as UFC Fight Night 118 was a mixed martial arts event produced by the Ultimate Fighting Championship. It was held on October 21, 2017, at Ergo Arena in Gdańsk, Poland.
Kowalkiewicz faced Jodie Esquibel on October 21, 2017 at UFC Fight Night: Cerrone vs. Till. She won the fight by unanimous decision.
9. Karolina lost most of her fights by unanimous decision
Since when she started her professional career in 2014, Karolina only lost once in a knockout and the bout was against Jéssica Andrade on September 8, 2018, at UFC 228.
However, it was not the only time that she lost a bout in the first round. She lost the fight via an armbar in round one when she faced Jessica Penne on 7 August 2021 at UFC 265.

10. Felice Herrig is the only contestant that Karolina has faced twice
Kowalkiewicz faced Felice Herrig on 7 April 2018 at UFC 223. Karolina won the fight by split decision. After a one-year hiatus, Kowalkiewicz faced Felice Herrig on June 4, 2022, at UFC Fight Night 207. Kowalkiewicz snapped a 5-bout-losing streak, submitting Herrig via rear-naked choke in the second round.
