Megan Jovon Megan Thee Stallion is an American rapper, whose real name is Ruth Pete (born February 15, 1995). She is originally from Houston, Texas, and first gained popularity when Instagram videos of her freestyling went viral. Megan Thee Stallion joined 300 Entertainment in 2018, releasing the mixtape Fever (2019) and the extended play Suga (2020), debuting in the top ten of the Billboard 200.

With songs like “Big Ole Freak” and her “Stalli Freestyle,” Megan has experienced the attention that comes with going viral before. She is a strong supporter of eco-friendly programmes and a great anime enthusiast. There’s so much more to her than what we see.

1. Since she started writing raps at age 16, she has taken her talent seriously

Rapping could as well run in Megan’s family. Megan made the decision to emulate her mother Holly Thomas after observing her perform rhymes under the stage name Holly-Wood while accompanying her on excursions to the recording studio. She started writing her own raps when she was 16 years old, and they were apparently so explicit that they made Thomas grasp her pearls.

Megan’s career, however, was launched when Thomas took on management duties after realising how committed her daughter was to music.

On July 12, 2020, rappers Tory Lanez and Megan Thee Stallion were involved in a heated altercation after leaving a party in Hollywood Hills. What followed after online publication of the same was a full-blown online fracas among fans. Megan alleged Lanez shot her in the feet, while Lanez maintained his innocence and claimed she was injured by someone else.

After a highly publicized trial in December 2022, Lanez was found guilty on all three charges against him: assault with a semiautomatic firearm, possession of a concealed, unregistered firearm, and negligent discharge of a firearm. He was finally sentenced to 10 years in prison in August 2023.

15. She became the second female rapper to win Best New Artist in 2021

Megan carved her name in music history at the 63rd annual Global Awards when she won Best New Artist. This feat made her the second female rapper to win the award in the category after Lauryn Hill in 1999.
