Rhodes Island is a U.S State in New England. Its Capital is providence and is known for its sandy shores and seaside colonial towns. It’s also home to several large cities. 1 Jeffrey Osborne
Jeffrey Osborne was born on 9th March 1948 in Providence, Rhode Island. He was the youngest of twelve children. Jeffrey is a singer-songwriter, musician and lyricist. He came from a family with musical background and some of his siblings went on to pursue music as a career as well. Because of his talent, Jeffrey has received four Grammy Awards Nominations.
In 2019 he was recognized with the Wheeler community Spirit Awards given to a member of the providence. He received the 2014 New England Pell Awards for Artistic Excellence from Providence (Rhode Island) s Trinity Repertory Company in honour of his artistic achievements and work in Rhode Island.

At the age of 3, actress Debra Messing’s family relocated to East Greenwich, Rhode Island. She has starred in many well-known films, but she is most recognized for playing Grace Adler on the sitcom Will & Grace. Her appearance in various films show that the actress iw good at her job and thus make her well liked by the audience.
3 Deon Anderson
Deon Terry Anderson was born on January 27 1983, in Providence Rhode Island. He is a former American football fullback in the National Football League for the Dallas Cowboys and Miami Dolphins. Deon Anderson was one of a kind with multiple talents, he played football, and basketball and was a track and field honouring his running skills under Couch Thom Spain in Hope High School.
Deon was selected in the sixth round of the 207 NFL Draft after the Dallas Cowboys traded up with the Cleveland Browns moving from the 200th to the 195th Position. On June 1st 2013, Anderson Won the Heavyweight Championship for the Real Cage Fighting Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) organisation.
4 Marvins Barnes
Barnes was born on July 27th 1952 in Providence Rhodes Island. He was an American professional Basketball Player. He played professionally in both the American Basketball Association(ABA) and National Basketball Association (NBA)
His Legacy is so great that even after his death on September 8th 2014 he still lives on as one of the most famous individuals from Rhodes Island. In march 2008, Providence College retired his Jersey, honouring him along with Ernie DiGregorio and Jimmy Walker. He is also a member of the Providence Hall of Fame, enshrined in 1992.

James Howard Woods was born on April 18th 1947. He grew up in Warwick, Rhode Island and Attended Pilgrim High school. He is an American Actor and is famous for his work in different films, stage and television production. He started his career in minor roles winning the Theatre World Award for his performance in Moonchildren.
His talent in acting has enabled him to receive many Awards such as Primetime Emmy Award and a Golden Globe Award for his performance in the Made for television film “promise” in 1986. He won his second Primetime Emmy Award for his performance in “My name is Bill. W” in 1989. James also received three Screen Actors Guide Award Nominations and three Independent Spirit Award Nomination winning for Salvador.
6 Wendy Carlos
Wendy Carlos was born on November 14th 1939 in Pawtucket, Rhode Island. She is a famous American Musician and Composer best known for her electronic Music and film scores. She came to fame with Switched –on Bach which was an album by Johann Sebastian Bach performed on Moog Synthesizer, it won her three Grammy Awards.
Carlos also raised awareness of Transgender issues and disclosed undergoing sex reassignment surgery in 1972. In 2005 Wendy was the recipient of the SEAMUS Lifetime Achievement Awards in recognition of lifetime achievements and contributions to the art and craft of electroacoustic music. Much of her discography is out of print and not yet licensed for digital distribution.
7 Gina Raimondo

Gina Marie Raimondo born May 17th 1971 was raised in Rhode Island. She is an American politician and venture capitalist who is famous because of her service as the 40th United State Secretary of Commerce since 2021
Before becoming state secretary of commerce she served as the 75th governor of Rhodes Island. This was from 2015 to 2021 breaking the record as the first woman to serve in the role. She played a major role in negotiations for the Infrastructure Investments and Jobs Acts in 2021. Gina also received awards from the Northern Rhode Island Chamber of Commerce and the YWCA of Northern Rhode Island.
8 Dan McKee
Daniel James McKee was born June 16th 1951 is an American businessman and politician serving as the 76th governor of Rhode Island since March 2021. He is a member of the Democratic party and he served as the Rhodes Island 69th Lieutenant governor from 2015 to 2021.
He served on the Cumberland Town Council from 1992 to 1998 and as Mayor of Cumberland twice that is from 2000 to 204 and from 2006 to 2014.McKee was elected Lieutenant Governor in 2014 when Gina Raimondo Resigned. McKeen has been a member of the board of directors of the Boys and Girls Club of Cumberland-Lincoln for over 25 years.
9 Ernest Calverley

Ernest Calverley was born on 30th 1924 and was an American Professional Basketballer. Calverley led in Assists per game in League first and second year while playing for Providence Steamrollers which was his home state team. He played professionally with the Providence Steamrollers of the Basketball Association of America for three seasons.
In his rookie season, Calverley was awarded all BAA Second Team in 1947, He also had a 70.7 % free throw percentage which contrasted with his 29.1% lifetime field goal percentage. He was Drafted by the Boston Celtics from the Providence steamrollers in the disposal draft in 1949 after the team disbanded.
10 Harry Anderson
Harry Anderson was born on October 14th 1952. He was an American Actor Comedian and Magician. He is best known for his role as Judge Harry Stone on the the1984-1992 television series “Night Court”. He later starred in the Sitcom Dave World from 1993 to 1979.
As a Magician, He toured and performed comedy shows and tricks for clubs. Anderson and his longtime friend Turk Pipkin wrote a book called Games you cant Lose; A Guide for Suckers, This was a collection of games, cons, tricks, and scams. It also contains a survey of “Games you can’t Win” told from an inside perspective. On April 16th, he died in his sleep of a stroke due to influenza and heart disease, at the age of 65.
