1. David Packard

David Packard – Wikipedia

David Packard was born on September 7, 1912, in Pueblo, Colorado. He is an American electrical engineer and entrepreneur who cofounded the Hewlett-Packard Company, a manufacturer of computers, computer printers, and analytic and measuring equipment.

He served as U.S. Deputy Secretary of Defense from 1969 to 1971, under Secretary of Defense Melvin Laird, during the Nixon administration. While serving in the Department of Defense (DoD), he brought concepts of resource management used in business to the military, as well as establishing the Defense Systems Management College. He resigned from this post in 1971 and returned to Hewlett-Packard in 1972 as Chairman of the Board.

Packard died on March 26, 1996, at the aged of 83.

2. Tim Allen

Timothy Alan Dick was born on June 13, 1953, in Denver, Colorado. He is an American actor, comedian, voice over artist, entertainer, and writer known for playing Tim “The Toolman” Taylor on the ABC sitcom Home Improvement (1991–1999) and Mike Baxter on the ABC/Fox sitcom Last Man Standing (2011–2021).

He voices Buzz Lightyear for the Toy Story franchise and played Scott Calvin and Santa Claus in the Santa Clause film trilogy (1994–2006). Allen’s other films include Tropical Snow (1988), Galaxy Quest (1999), Joe Somebody (2001), Zoom (2006), Wild Hogs (2007), The Six Wives of Henry Lefay (2009), Crazy on the Outside (2010), 3 Geezers! (2013), and El Camino Christmas (2017).

Along with his acting career, Allen formed his own race team with Steve Saleen and race driver Bob Bondurant. He called his team ‘Saleen/Allen “RRR” Speedlab.’ The team drove Saleen Mustangs in the ‘SCCA World Challenge.’

3. Jack Dempsey

William Harrison “Jack” Dempsey nicknamed Kid Blackie, and The Manassa Mauler was born on June 24, 1895, in Manassa, Colorado. He was an American professional boxer whose aggressive fighting style and exceptional punching power made him one of the most popular boxers in history.

Dempsey started boxing in 1914. He held the title world heavyweight boxing champion from July 4, 1919, when he knocked out Jess Willard in three rounds in Toledo, Ohio, until September 23, 1926, when he lost a 10-round decision to Gene Tunney in Philadelphia.

Dempsey, who is regarded by many as the apotheosis of the professional fighter, fought 84 bouts, winning 62, 51 of which were by knockout. He is a member of the International Boxing Hall of Fame

He died on May 31, 1983, at the age of 87.

4. Kristin Davis

Kristin Landen Davis was born on February 23, 1965, in Boulder, Colorado. She is an Emmy- and Golden Globe-winning American actress and producer. Kristin is best known for playing Charlotte York Goldenblatt in the HBO romantic comedy series Sex and the City (1998–2004) for which she received a 2004 Emmy Award nomination.

Davis became interested in acting from a young age, and her big break came in 1995 playing villainous Brooke Armstrong in the Fox prime time soap opera Melrose Place (1995–1996).

In addition to acting, Kristin is also active in supporting charitable foundations. Due to her love for animals, especially elephants, she has been supporting organizations that take care of animals.

5. Bob Sapp

Robert Malcolm Sapp was born on September 22, 1973, in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He is an American professional wrestler, actor, and former American football player best known for his career as a kick boxer and mixed martial artist.

Sapp began his athletic career playing football, he was drafted by the Chicago Bears in the third round (69th overall) of the 1997 NFL Draft. However, his career took a hit after he was suspended by the NFL in 1998 for alleged steroid abuse. On the advice of his friend Mike Morris, Sapp pursue a career in professional wrestling, mostly fighting in Japan.

India Arie Simpson was born on October 3, 1975, in Denver, Colorado. She is an American singer and songwriter known for her soulful tone and melodies. Her songs tackle a variety of issues regarding race, religion and self-love that speak to the soul because of the rawness and sincerity of her words.

She has sold over 3.3 million records in the US and 10 million worldwide. She has won four Grammy Awards from her 23 nominations, including Best R&B Album. India also has two BET awards, four NAACP Image awards, and has been nominated for five Soul Train music awards.

In 2009, India Arie portrayed Nina Simone in a staged reading at the Roundabout Theatre Company of the upcoming Broadway musical “Soul Doctor”, about the life of Shlomo Carlebach written by Daniel Wise.

7. Dolton Trumbo

James Dalton Trumbo was born on December 9, 1905, in Montrose, Colorado. He was an award-winning author and screenwriter who was blacklisted from the film industry from 1947 until the early 1960s due to his Communist ties.

In the early 1930s, Trumbo began to write professionally, publishing articles and stories in magazines. In 1935, he landed a job as a script reader in the Warner Bros. story department, where he scripted many award-winning films. In 1947, Trumbo joined nine colleagues in refusing to testify before Congress regarding their Communist ties. The so-called “Hollywood Ten” were blacklisted from that time until the early 1960s.

In 1993, Trumbo was posthumously awarded the Academy Award for writing Roman Holiday (1953). Trumbo died of a heart attack on September 10, 1976.

8. John Kerry

John Forbes Kerry was born on December 11, 1943 in Aurora, Colorado. He is an American politician and diplomat, currently serving as the first United States special presidential envoy for climate. He previously served as the 68th United States Secretary of State from 2013 to 2017.

Kerry first drew public attention as a decorated Vietnam veteran turned anti-war activist. In 1972, he entered electoral politics as a Democratic candidate for the United States House of Representatives in Massachusetts’ 5th congressional district. Kerry won the Democratic nomination but was defeated in the general election by his Republican opponent.

9. Ken Kesey

Ken Elton Kesey was born on September 17, 1935 in La Junta, Colorado. He was an American novelist, essayist and a hero of the countercultural revolution and the hippie movement of the 1960s.

Mr. Kesey is remembered for his novel One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest. It tells the story of Randle Patrick McMurphy, an exuberant, vivacious outsider who avoids a correction facility sentence by pleading insanity.

10. Donald Cerrone

Donald Anthony Cerrone was born on March 29, 1983 in Denver, Colorado. Nickname “Cowboy”,  he is an American mixed martial artist and former professional kickboxer. He currently fights in the Welterweight division for the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC).

On November 10, 2018, Cerrone exceeded Georges St-Pierre and Michael Bisping for the most wins in UFC history with 21, and surpassed Anderson Silva and Vitor Belfort for the most finishes in UFC history with 15. After defeating Alexander Hernandez at UFC Fight Night 143 on January 19, 2019, Cerrone increased both his UFC win record total to 22, and his UFC record for most finishes to 16, and tied the record for most bouts in the organization with a total of 37.
