1. Holocene

2. Aztec Willie’s Taqueria

Aztec Willie’s Taqueria is a casual Mexican eatery for classic platters and happy hours in a lively space with salsa dancing. They open daily from 11 am to 11 pm. Their address is 1501 NE Broadway, Portland, OR 97232, United States. 

Aztec Willie’s Taqueria turns into a salsa club on Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday each week. At least once a week they offer lessons. On the nights they do not have salsa they offer other types of dancing like mambo, cumbia, or merengue along with a lesson. They have a dance schedule on their with times and dance types.

They have a full menu focused on Mexican food made with fresh ingredients including tacos, and burritos, and an excellent cocktail menu with killer margaritas. They also have 12 beers on tap. They also have a daily happy hour from 11 am to 6 pm.

3. Church Bar

Church Bar is a funky community-oriented experience with a Roman Catholic theme. They’ve created an interactive experience born of communion, making Church much more than your average local club.

At the Church bar,  you will find a cheeky confession booth that happens to be a photo booth. Despite the small space, people are always up and dancing and there is usually a DJ. Occasionally, they have a karaoke night.

4. 45 East

Techno rave in Moscow by Alexander Popov –

45 East is an industrial nightclub with an underground feel featuring a covered balcony and DJs spinning EDM. Their address is 315 SE 3rd Ave, Portland, OR 97214, United States. They open on Thursday from 8 pm to 12 am and on Saturday and Sunday from 10 pm to 2 am.

This club’s roots are firmly planted in the underground. 5. Trio Lounge

They have two separate dance rooms one playing current hits and the other playing Latin music. Trio Club has a monthly karaoke contest for money and happy hour during the week from 3-7. 

6. The Barrel Room

The Barrel Room is a unique place to go dancing with its indoor and outdoor dance areas. Their address is 105 NW 3rd Ave, Portland, OR 97209, United States. The Barrel Room prides itself on its original cocktail creations and delicious sharable food, like fried pickles. Inside you will either find a DJ, dueling pianos, or a live band.

At the Barrel Room, they play mostly top 40 hits. They do take advance reservations for tables on their Facebook page. Their Facebook page is also a great place to stay updated on the theme nights like karaoke and 80’s night.

7. Dirty Nightclub

Dirty Nightclub is a non-stop dance party in downtown Portland. It is a 3-minute walk from the Lan Su Chinese Garden. Their address is 35 NW 3rd Ave, Portland, OR 97209, United States. 

Dirty has two large rooms for dancing, each room has there own kind of music and there is a different DJ spinning in each room. They host nightly events every Monday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Get there at opening if you want to enjoy the happy hour. Dirty has tables that you can reserve in advance, including VIP areas with their own dance poles.

8. Lola’s Room

Lola’s Room is a cozy venue for dancing, DJs, and live shows on the 2nd floor of the historic Crystal Ballroom building. Their address is  McMenamin’s, 1332 W Burnside St, Portland, OR 97205, United States. They open on Friday and Saturday between 9 pm to 2 am.

Lola’s Room is home to the famous Friday night 80s Video Dance Attack, where patrons dressed in 80’s garb hit the floor and dance to favorites by classic 80s icons like Madonna and Michael Jackson.
