Ortega grew up in Coachella Valley, California, with her parents; Edward A. Ortega, and her mother, Natalie Ortega, her 5 siblings; three sisters, Mia Ortega, Aaliyah Ortega, and Mariah Ortega and two brothers, Issac Ortega and Markus Ortega. Many owe her talent to her parents who always encouraged her to push herself.

She always loved acting ever since she was a child and it was evident from her portrayal of little Jane in the comedy-drama Jane the Virgin on The CW (2014–2019). 1.Her mother is half Mexican and half Puerto Rican

Jenna’s mother, Natalie is from a mixed ethnicity of both Mexican and Puerto Rico. Both communities are rich in culture and she tries to pass it on to her kids. Sources confirm that their great-grandmother on Natalie’s side decided to relocate from Mexico to the United States with four of her daughters.

The move affected them as they stayed in the United States but they all worked hard to make ends meet for a more comfortable lifestyle. Jenna’s grandfather on Natalie‘s side was originally born and raised in Puerto Rico before moving to New York City making her half of both ethnicities.

2.Her Father is a Mexican American

Edward A. Ortega is also Mexican but has stayed in the United States for a long period of time. His parents and grand-parents are of Mexican origin but decided to move to California. He doesn’t speak Spanish as the language slowly disappeared from his family.

The reasons of the long journey they made are not known but many assume that it was for a better and more comfortable lifestyle. Considering Jenna’s Father is Mexican American and Jenna’s mother is of Puerto Rican and Mexican ancestry, which would make Jenna 75% Mexican and 25% Puerto Rican.

3.Jenna’s mother is an emergency nurse

As per reports, Wednesday star’s mum is an emergency nurse. The responsibilities of an emergency nurse include drawing blood, maintaining emergency room care standards, performing minor medical operations with doctors and other duties and responsibilities directed by the hospital.

The difference with a normal nurse is that an emergency nurse should always be ready to respond quickly in case of a medical emergency. Her father on the other hand is a good and hardworking businessman with an associate degree.

4.Natalie is active on social media

Natalie, Jenna’s mother, is exceedingly active on social media. She finds time between her breaks as a hardworking nurse to post on social media. She is especially active o instagram where she has more than 10.6K Instagram followers. The posts at times are recent or throwback pictures of her children.

The 46-year-old routinely posts pictures of her family having fun together and enjoying each other’s companies. They would often spend time at the beach or a pumpkin farm having fun.

5.Natalie Ortega is bilingual

Natalie is indeed from a mixed ethnicity of both Mexican and Puerto Rico. Unlike her husband who lost his language gradually, she can still speak Spanish. This was after spending some time with her grandmother who babysat her often and taught her Spanish.

The Wednesday star told reporters that their mom was to speak to them in Spanish while the dad was to speak in English. From the look of things it might have worked as Jenna can speak both English and Spanish although admittedly it was a struggle.

6.Edward A. Ortega is a hardworking businessman

As per reports, Wednesday star’s mum is a nurse, while her father is a businessman with an associate degree.  He is a hardworking businessman with so many skill sets in the business world. He holds an associate’s degree In La Quinta’s Viento Dr., the family resides. He and his wife have managed to sustain and manage the family well.

7.The couple has 6 children together

Jenna Ortega has five siblings: three lovely sisters, Mia Ortega, Aaliyah Ortega, and Mariah Ortega. Jenna has two brothers, Issac Ortega and Markus Ortega. The family lives in Viento Dr, La Quinta. Jenna,Her eldest sister is happily wed to her husband and has a beautiful son while Jenna’s brother Issac who is 22 recently walked down the aisle with his girlfriend.  The rest include Marcus, aged 15; Mia, aged 19; Jenna, aged 20; the twin’s Aliyah.

When the family started living in the United States they were not badly off as the parents were able to provide for the family as beast as they could. They were able to put their kids to school. They put Jenna through elementary education in a nearby high school in Coachella Valley, California and later enrolled her at a nearby private college in California, where she is working toward her degree.

9.Jena’s parents allowed her to audition and at times acted as agents

When Jenna was at a tender age of 6 years old, she started showing early love and talent for acting. Her parents supported Jenna in entering the entertainment industry and helped her get some of her earliest opportunities in front of the camera. As of today Jenna has worked in the entertainment sector for more than ten years and has already amassed a $3 million net worth. 

Her first auditions started at the age of eight with the help of her mother and a few agents. It all finally worked out after she made her acting debut in 2012 with a cameo for Rob in the episode “Baby Bug.”

10.Jenna’s parents always kept traditions

Despite the mixed origins and ancestry while living in the United States, the family made it look easy with their Latina traditions. Jenna she enjoys these intimate moments with family. They kept traditions like piñatas during birthday celebrations and freshly made tamales at Christmas time.
