Jenna Ortega wants season 2 of Wednesday to be more darker and less romantic

Jenna Ortega said that 鈥渋t made no sense鈥� for her character to be part of the love triangle on season one, she added in the podcast, Armchair Expert with Dax Shepherd. With season 2 of the Netflix鈥檚 hit Wednesday on the way, many are wondering about the script and whether it will be half as good as season one that premiered in November 2022, a show from Tim Burton.  Wednesday is one of the most watched Netflix English language series which features Jenna Ortega as Wednesday Addams of the Addams family as she tries to master her psychic ability while solving a murder case involving her parents.

The actress has been nothing but brutally honest about anything regarding the Netflix series. She has been to several interviews making headlines in Hollywood and across the world. The 20 year old has gotten massive followers following the title role and has gone further with taking over tiktok trends.  For a role that she was not persistent on taking, she is living the dream. As The Sunday Times put it, she was not interested in the role initially but Tim Burton convinced her otherwise.

From the first part we get the idea of how an Addams family looks like, an exact opposite of a typical sitcom family. If the Addams family doesn鈥檛 love support each other and a bit whimsy then they are definitely not the Addams family.

For those who finished all 8 episodes in one day like me can attest to how addictive the show is. This is not one of those situations where the show is overhyped and once you watch it you are disappointed. Jenna nailed the role of Wednesday Addams with her lifeless eyes, pale face and her cold demeanour.

The storyline follows her first time joining Nevermore Academy where her parents were both students. Wednesday Addams tries to solve the mystery behind the killing spree of a monster and equally solve the old mystery of a murder that happened involving her father. On top of this she has a love triangle going on and one of them is the monster terrorizing everyone.

I personally don鈥檛 want Wednesday to have any love interest at all, no more Tyler or Xavier or even Enid majorly because I feel it takes away from the gothic and cold character portrayed by Wednesday, although fans really wanted to see the Enid romance going on. When season one ended with a surprising twist leaving fans puzzled and many questions that need answering.

Speaking on the Thursday episode of The Tonight鈥檚 Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Jenna talked about ideas of brainstorming. She talked about a writer鈥檚 room being put together. The writers are still underway to decide on what will make up the new storyline.

The trailer has not yet been released but what we know for sure is that it鈥檚 going to be a while before the new season premiers as it requires proper planning. Judging from how long season one production and filming took, roughly around 8 months, we can only speculate that the new season will not be coming anytime soon.
