Jenna Ortega pays tribute to Lisa Loring after she passed away at age 64

Jenna Ortega, who plays Wednesday Addams in Netflix鈥檚 ‘Wednesday’ paid tribute to Lisa Loring, the original Wednesday Addams on the 1964鈥�1966 sitcom The Addams Family.  The 20-year-old shared a photo on her Instagram story alongside the caption, 鈥淎bsolutely devastated. Thank you for everything.鈥�

 Loring died Saturday night, January 28, 2023, at Providence St. Joseph Medical Center in Burbank of difficulties from a stroke caused by high blood pressure, as stated by her daughter Vanessa Foumberg. It followed that Jenna paid tribute by posting on her Instagram page.

The Wednesday Addams of the 1966 sitcom was six-year-old Lisa Loring who was the first actress to play the role. The role Jenna Ortega now plays is a teenage version of the same character.

Jenna accompanied the caption with a black and white photo of Lisa playing the role at the age of six years. Jenna also added the statement 鈥�She went peacefully with both her daughters [Vanessa and Marianne] holding her hands.” This showed that the actress was truly surrounded by family who helped her during dark times.

Jenna has been quoted paying homage to Lisa Loring for her role in the film and that she was exceptional. In an interview with Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show in December 2022, she said, 鈥�I paid homage to Lisa Loring, the first Wednesday Addams. I did a little bit of her shuffle that she does“.

Author Laurie Jacobson wrote on Facebook about Loring鈥檚 legacy in the world of entertainment  鈥淪he is embedded in the tapestry that is pop culture and in our hearts always as Wednesday Addams.鈥�

Her death came as a shock to many but her legacy will always remain. She was will be missed.
