Wednesday will return for season two! The series Wednesday got the highest views on Netflix after its debut on 23^rd of November 2022. According to Teenvogue, the show completely broke the record as the most streamed show in a week after its release. The show is a mix of horror and comedy. So what are the latest updates on the show starring Jenna Ortega?

The show’s Twitter account gave the final confirmation beginning of this year that the series has been renewed for season 2. Interestingly not only will Jenna Ortega continue with her role as Wednesday but she will also be an executive producer of the show. The reports follow after the release of Jenna’s interview she did with Elle in March 2023.

The show is a Tim Burton show and it follows the story of the Addams family especially the daughter, Wednesday, a role played by Jenna Ortega. Wednesday is a sarcastic and brilliant young girl who investigates a murder mystery that involves her father. The show is captivating and it is a must watch for anyone who has not watched it yet. The show got many positive reviews especially the role played by Jenna Ortega.

Ortega first got the role in May 2021 and she accepted the role and later told Rotten Tomatoes “I’ve been compared to Wednesday all my life in terms of my sarcasm and dry humour, so it’s oddly fitting.”  The actress has played several films before her role as Wednesday; she was part for various drama and horror films. She has taken part in films like You, Scream, Jane The Virgin, The Fallout, Yes Day, Jurassic World, Studio 666 just to mention a few. Many would agree that she was the most suited person for the role considering her previous casting in major horror films. she embodied the character very well as a teenage girl who is dead inside.

The Wednesday series two has not yet been given an exact release date, however there are speculations that the show might return around 2024. The reason as to why next year would be suitable is because there have been no preparations for shooting and the casts are busy with other projects like Jenna who is working on various projects in the film and television industry.

In terms of the casting members, it is most likely all initial cast members from season one will remain. The first and most obvious cast is Jenna Ortega as Wednesday. It woud be absurd to remove her or replace her as she is the best suited for the role.
