Indya Moore is an American actor and model born on the 17^th of January 1995. Moore became a model at the age of 15 and began acting at a young age. She is famous for her role as Angel Evangelista in the FX television series called Pose. In 2019 Moore was named one of the 100 most influential people in the world by Time.

Moore identifies as transgender and non-binary and uses the pronouns they/them and she/her. They do not exclusively identify with either male or female, they may identify with both genders or reject the gender concept. Moore had gender identity issues at a young age and this saw them leave their parent鈥檚 home to go and leave in foster care. This was because they did not conform to the social gender expectations and their parents鈥� had transphobia. While struggling with these issues of gender identity they was bullied at school and dropped out during their sophomore year. She has spoken openly about their struggles with transphobia and bullying.

In an interview with Michaela Jae Rodriguez, Pose Co-star, Moore spoke openly about her identity as a non-binary. Moore said, 鈥� I’m non-binary but I don’t really talk about it that much. I don’t feel like people really are there yet for understanding it, which I don’t mind, but I also acknowledge the way people see me as a woman. And because I’m seen as a woman, a cis woman or binary presenting, people are going to hold me up to those same standards that women are held up to鈥�.  She confirmed her sexual identity and addressed about how feels about it. However, Moore has not yet made their sexual orientation public.

They have also used their influence and celebrity status as a platform to advocate for the rights of the LGBTQ+ community and raise awareness about transgender issues including equality and inclusiveness. They have openly expressed the struggles faced by non-binary and transgender people. This is especially to the people in the marginalized community who have been discriminated against and at times punished for their gender identity. Moore is a significant voice for the queer community and her activism goes way beyond her career in the entertainment industry. This is probably because of the gender issues including isolation and bullying that she underwent at a young age.

Moore has been able to express her gender identity freely. However, she has not disclosed the specific details of their sexual experiences. Therefore, it is worth noting that sexual orientation and identity are personal aspects and everyone can express their gender identity without discrimination. Moore has used her influence as a public figure to promote understanding and acceptance of the LGBTQ+ community.
