Beyoncé Knowles-Carter began her musical career in 1966 when she joined the R&B girl group Destiny’s Child. The American dancer, singer, songwriter, businesswoman, and actress from Houston gained fame as the group’s lead singer when their debut album was released in 1997.

The album’s song “No, No, No” became their first big international smash. In 1999, over 8 million copies of their second album were sold globally, propelling them to quick stardom. Their third album was even more successful, debuting at the top of the Billboard 200 and receiving numerous Grammy Award nominations. Of the group’s seven studio albums, five reached platinum status. Destiny’s Child sold over 50 million records worldwide.

While most artists don’t necessarily earn much from their album sales, Beyoncé is the star when it comes to single sales, having generated over $114 million in digital singles and an estimated $29.5 million in album sales. This fact holds true because Bey has writing and producing credits on much of her work.

Since its release in 2002, Beyoncé’s debut solo album Dangerously In Love has sold 11 million copies worldwide. The album features hits such as “Crazy In Love,” which she co-wrote with her husband Jay-Z. The consecutive albums “B’day” and “I Am…Sasha Fierce,” also sold 8 million copies each. In 2013, the release of her self-titled visual album sent the whole world into a frenzy as she broke iTunes records within the first week of the album’s release.

The 2016 release “Lemonade,” sold over 2.5 million copies, followed by her collaboration with Jay-Z on “Everything Z’s Is Love”. The visual album “Black is King” released in 2020 as well as 2022’s “Renaissance” garnered positive reception amongst her fans.

Ivy Park then partnered with Adidas for their 2019 and 2020 collections, selling out in one weekend. On February 19, 2021, the singer’s third collection with Adidas, dubbed Icy Park which was widely popular, sold out immediately. Her rodeo-inspired fall 2021 collection sold quickly as well.
