10. Lovely’s Fifty Fifty

Lovely’s Fifty Fifty is a family-owned restaurant in Portland, Oregon. Opened in 2010, they use produce exclusively from Oregon farms combining the West Coast farmers market tradition with whole-grain sourdough bread-making techniques. Their pies are blanketed in fresh greens, foraged flowers, wild mushrooms and distinctive vegetables. 

You can also order salads or their homemade ice cream. The pizzas there are minimally sauced, with cool stuff on top, made by the owner connected to Oregon’s most adventurous farmers. Toppings are built around whatever farmers drop off, including stinging nettles and fenugreek bok choy raab.

Campana serves old-world and new-world Italian fare with hand-made pasta, risotto, fish and meat, house-made desserts, an all-Italian wine list, and both classic and contemporary cocktails.

Over the past two years, Campana has continued to grow and gathered critical acclaim. Dinner here is best bookended by a negroni and a Spella espresso, the latter served beside a rich and sticky house-made chocolate gelato. Between, go for crostini-sided ramekins of baccalà and chicken liver mousse for the table. Chubby and toothsome pastas like rigatoni amatriciana and tagliatelle alle vongole are the stars, carrying all the quirks of house-made noodles and nonna-approved sauces. Davenport opened its doors in November 2013 with the simple idea of presenting food that is incredibly fresh and simply prepared, with an excellent wine list to accompany it. You don’t need to stare at the plates here or deconstruct the ingredients.
