Marie Osmond is a member of the Osmond family business, she is also an author, singer, actress, and talk show host.

Her family had a singing group which she was not part of it but instead, Osmond gained popularity in her country as a pop music artist on her own.

 Marie Osmond the eighth out of nine children and the only daughter of Olive May and George Osmond was born in Ogden, Utah.

 Her parents raised her as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Marie Osmond has 8 brothers namely,  Virl, Tom, Alan, Wayne, Merrill, Jay, Donny, and Jimmy Osmond. When she was four years old, Marie Osmond debuted on the Andy Williams Show.

2. Marie has Promoted Different Companies Products in her Career

 Marie Osmond started promoting different products for different companies. In 2013 she promoted the Nutrisystem brand of weight loss meals which was part of the Slimsational Stars.

Also the same year for a wise food company, she promoted a line of emergency food storage solutions. She became the company’s spokesperson through her likeness on the company website and also through TV commercials.

Together with body Gym Marie and her husband promoted a product for a home workout that appeared on QVC.

Marie became a strategic advisor and owner of MD Complete in 2018.  MD Complete is a line of skincare regimens that is available online.

In 2020 in one of the direct marketing companies in television, online, and also to consumer mailers, Marie Osmond became the spokesperson. The company was known as the  Publishers Clearing House (PCH).  

3. Marie Osmond Appeared as a Celebrity Contestant in 2007

Marie Osmond was among the celebrities who appeared as contestants on the fifth season of the ABC show. The other celebrities who appeared in the show included Jonathan Roberts, the 2004 US Rising Star Latin Champion.

She emerged in third place at the show which took place on November 27, 2007.  After her performance on the fifth week, she fainted but stated that “I forgot to breathe.” However, Marie’s brother Donny won the ninth edition.

4. She Co-Founded a Non-profit Organization in 1983

With her colleague actor John Schneider, Marie co-founded a non-profit organization called Children’s Miracle Network in 1983.

The main purpose of the Children’s Miracle Network (CMN) was to improve lives by raising hospital funds in North America. By 2019 the organization had raised at least US$6.9 billion. The money was distributed directly to a total of 170 different hospitals in North America.

Along with the other organization co-founders, they hosted a television show in order to bring attention to the network.

5. Marie Married 3 Times

Out of her 3 marriages, twice were to the same man. In 1979 she was engaged to Jeff Crayton who was an acting student. In July of the same year, they broke up.

In 2029, she briefly told Andy Cohen who was a host during an episode of Watch What Happens Live that she dated Erik Estrada. Around the same time, she also disclosed that she dated singer Andy Gibb.  

Marie Osmond was first married to Stephen Lyle Craig, who was a basketball player at Brigham Young University in 1982. The couple had a son, Stephen James Craig, who was born in 1983. Marie later divorced Stephen Lyle Craig in1985.

One year late On October 28th, 1986, Marie Osmond was married to Brian Blosil at a Temple in Utah called Jordan River Temple. The couple had two children namely Rachael and Matthew. Osmond and Blosil adopted five children, Jessica, Michael, Brandon, Brianna, and Abigail. However, In 2007 Osmond and Blosil announced their divorce.

 

6.  She Suffered from Postpartum Depression

 Marie Osmond suffered severe postpartum depression in 1999. Together with Marcia Wilkie and Dr. Judith Moore,  she co-authored a book that was known as Behind the Smile. This book mainly chronicled around her experience with depression.

 Some U.S. tabloids stated that Marie Osmond attempted suicide. Those claims were denied by her publicity team. Her team stated that, due to the medication she was taking, she suffered an adverse reaction.

7. Her Adopted Son Committed Suicide

 Her adopted son with her ex-husband Blosil On February 26, 2010, committed suicide by jumping from the eighth floor of his apartment building in Los Angeles.

 Her son suffered from depression and addiction. At the age of 12, he had been rehabilitated.

 

8. Marie Remarried her First Husband in 1982

In a small wedding ceremony, Marie Osmond remarried her first husband, Stephen Craig on May 4th,2011. The wedding took place in  Las Vegas Nevada Temple. During the wedding, she wore her dress from the 1982 wedding.

9. Her Fortune will be given out to Charity

Unlike many parents, Marie Osmond made a statement in March 2020 that shocked most people.  In her statement, she said that all her fortune would be given out to charity upon her death.

According to her, leaving her fortune to her children would be a disservice to them. Marie noted that they have to work hard and make their own money.

10. Marie Osmond Published a Book in 2010

In 2010, Marie Osmond published a book that contained step-by-step instructions for at least 20 projects. The projects included  “Paper Roses quilt, bags, aprons, and gifts for babies, teens, friends, and pets.”  

Throughout her career, she has been an inspiration to most of the upcoming artists in her country and all over the world.  through hard work she has proved to many young people if talent is properly utilized there can achieve more in life.
