If parks are your thing and you’ve not visited the world’s first national park Yellowstone, you’re missing out. Yellowstone National Park is one of the seven in Wyoming that draw millions of tourists to the region. Established on March 1, 1872, makes it the first U.S. national park as well as the first on the earth.
Visitors to Yellowstone are treated to the iconic Old Faithful geyser and the Grand Prismatic Spring which is the United States’ largest hot spring. The state’s early advancement of women’s rights earned it the “Equality State” nickname.

1. Jackson Pollock

He was a famous artist from Wyoming born on January 28, 1912. He is considered the pioneer of Morden art. His passion for art began at a young age and he worked on perfecting his skill which triggered his move to New York City. While there he trained under American painter Thomas Hart, Benton.
Hart became a great influence on his painting but he also drew inspiration from other artists. He later advanced his painting techniques and established his name in the creative industry. Pollock’s unique style of creativity was pouring household paint on a canvas laid on a horizontal surface then he would proceed to paint from any direction. This approach was criticized and applauded in equal measure hence earning the name “drip paint” method.
One of his celebrated works is an abstract expressionist painting titled Number 17A. After his death on August 11, 1956, he was honored by the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York City with a memorial retrospective exhibition held on December 1956. He continues to be appreciated throughout generations.

6. Mildred Harris
She was an American actress. Her acting career began at the age of 11 years. She has been featured in over 40 films with her outstanding talent praised in films like The Magic Cloak of Oz and Intolerance. In her early career years, she took up child actress roles but transitioned to leading lady roles over time. Her lustrous career brought her worldwide recognition resulting in her marriage to superstar Charlie Chaplin.
Unfortunately, Mildred’s marriage to Charlie was full of scandals and high public scrutiny because of their fame. Thus the union didn’t last long. These issues took a toll on her career. Over and above that, her inability to transition from silent movies to more talking films also affected her career. After the divorce, she gave marriage another chance and tried her luck in two other marriages. She died due to pneumonia-related complications at the age of 43 in California.
7. Paul Anthony Gosar
This American far-right politician was born on November 27, 1958, in Rock Springs, Wyoming. The politician is a former dentist. Beginning in 2013, he has served as U.S. representative for Arizona’s 4th congressional district.
He is a Republican thus a strong ally of former president Donald Trump and even voted to overturn the results of the 2020 U.S. presidential election. He is quite controversial and on November 17, 2021, he was censured by the House of Representatives regarding a photoshopped anime clip he posted on social media in an attack on Joe Biden’s leadership.
8. James Patrick Johnson

He is an American professional basketball player for the Indiana Pacers of the National Basketball Association. He was born on February 20, 1987, in Wyoming where he also attended school and started basketball playing. While in his senior year, he averaged 28 points and nine rebounds per game.
According to Rivals.com rankings in 2007, Johnson was listed as the number 16 small forward and the number 62 player in the country. From 2007 to 2009, he played as the power forward for the Wake Forest Demon Deacons. In addition, Chicago Bulls drafted him 16th overall in the 2009 NBA draft.
9. Cecilia Hart
She was born on February 19th, 1948. The actress is acknowledged for playing Stacey Erickson on CBS’s police drama Âé¶¹APP. The original film ran from 1979 until 1980. In the film, she co-starred with American actor James Earl Jones who later became her husband. She enjoyed roles in many more series throughout her career and she died on October 16th, 2016.
