10 Fascinating Facts About Model Keith Carlos

Carlos, a former wide receiver for the American football team and current fashion model, was born in 1987. He was the first man to win America’s Next Top Model.

Following his “Athlete of the Year” high school football career at Bridgeport Central, Keith attended Lackawanna Community College in Scranton, PA..Keith was a standout athlete who received numerous Division 1 scholarship offers. But he decided to enroll at Purdue University in Indiana instead. He achieved progress at Purdue both on and off the field, joining Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., the Golden Key International Honors Society, and rising to the position of leadership on the football team.

By beginning his new profession on Tyra Banks’ popular series “America’s Next Top Model” Cycle 21, Keith accepted the hardships of life. The fact that the program was broadcast all around the world gave Keith the backing from the audience he required to triumph.

After becoming the first male winner of America’s Next Top Model, he signed a contract with NEXT Models and appeared in prominent advertising campaigns for companies like Macy’s, Nordstroms, Bloomingdales, Sears, Diesel, Lucky Brand, Guess, Nike, Under Armour, Adidas, Zappos, K-Mart, DSW, Renuzit, Belk, Men’s Warehouse, MCM, True Religion, WalMart, and Giorgio Armani, among others. 1. Keith was the first male model to win the ANTM competition

Before taking an early retirement from football, Carlos had worked as a model occasionally. He received the 2011 Krave Magazine “Krave Kover Winner” award. Carlos made an appearance in Day26’s “Made Love Recently” music video the following year. And Essence magazine dubbed him an “unforgettable face” in its 2013 issue.

Carlos tried out for America’s Next Top Model’s 21st season in 2014. On December 6, 2014, Carlos has crowned the first male winner of America’s Next Top Model; his rewards comprised a contract with NEXT Model Management, a picture shoot for Nylon magazine,  and a cash prize of $100,000.

In his illustrious modeling career, Keith represented a number of prestigious fashion labels.
