It is one of the largest banyan trees in the United States. The banyan tree was imported from India. It was planted in front of the Lahaina courthouse and Lahaina harbor in 1873. Lahaina Banyan Court Park is located in the historical Lahaina town. It is the home of the oldest living Banyan tree in Maui. The banyan tree is 150 years old

Lahaina is a town with major historical significance. It is the town was the first capital kingdom of Hawaii, has a whaling port, and also a plantation settlement. • Old Lahaina lighthouse was the first lighthouse to be built in Hawaii. It was commissioned in 1840 by King Kamehameha III to light the way for incoming whaling ships.
• Lahaina prison/ Hale Pa’ahao was built in 1853. I t was place was used to put criminals during the whaling era. It housed two jail cell buildings for both men and women.

5. Jodo mission 

It is located the head west of Lahaina’s front street towards the beach. Jodo’s mission was established in a private house in 1912 to propagate Buddhism in Lahaina.  The temple was moved to its present location in 1931. It is a peaceful destination that looks and feels more like Japan than Maui.

It features is mainly one of the largest statues of the Buddha outside of Asia. The statue was installed in 1968 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the arrival of Japanese immigrants in Hawaii.
