Rinat Leonidovych Akhmetov is a Ukrainian billionaire and businessman who was born on 21st September 1966 in Donetsk. Akhmetov is the founder and president of System Capital Management (SCM). He is also ranked as the number one wealthiest man in Ukraine.

Rinat was listed by Forbes business magazine as the 607th richest person in the world and number one in Ukraine. He has an estimated net worth of US$4.5 billion. Rinat is also the owner and president of the Ukrainian football club Shakhtar Donetsk.

He spent six years as a member of the Ukrainian Verkhovna Rada which is also the parliament for the Party of Regions. Rinat Akhmetov was born into a family of coal miners and his mother was a shop assistant. He graduated and earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from Donetsk National University in 2001. As of October, the net worth of Rinat is US$8 billion.

2. Gennadiy Bogolyubov

Gennadiy Bogolyubov (Zvi Hirsch) is a Ukrainian-born billionaire and businessman based in the United Kingdom. It is not exactly well known when he was born but it is thought to be either in 1961 or 1962. Gennadiy controls Privat Group alongside fellow Billionaires Ihor Kolomoyskyi and Oleksiy Martynov.

In 2010, Gennadiy was ranked as the third richest Ukrainian with a net worth of US$5.429 billion. His interests are in ferrous, petrochemicals and finance. Gennadiy Bogolyubov owns the largest manganese miner in Australia, Consolidated Minerals.

3. Ihor Valeriyovych

Ihor Valeriyovych Kolomoyskyi is an Israel-Cypriot billionaire, business magnate and politician from Ukraine. He was born on 13th February 1963 in Dnipropetrovysk. Forbes magazine rated Ihor as the third richest person in Ukraine who is also one of the most influential oligarchs.

IIhorco-founded PrivatBank and the informal extension of companies Privat Group. He also owns extensive media holdings. Ihor Valeriyovych served as Governor of his hometown from 2014 until his dismissal by President Petro Poroshenko in 2016. His net worth is approximately US$1.7 billion.

4. Vadym Nocynskyi

He is a businessman, the owner of Smart Holding Group and a politician. Vadym was born on 3rd June 1963 in Staraya Russa, Russia. He graduated from the Leningrad Academy of Civil Aviation in engineering management systems.

He never rose rapidly to become a billionaire. Between 1985 and 1986, he worked for various companies in Russia. In 1996, Nonynskyi started working with Lukoil North West and later bought Ukrainian metallurgy companies. According to Forbes business magazine, Nocynskyi has a net worth of US$1.9 billion.

5. Yuriy Anatoliyovych

Yuriy is the CEO of Ukraine’s largest agricultural company MHP and also a billionaire. He began his career as a broker at Kyiv Commodity Exchange. Yuriy became one of the founders of JV “LKB” which dealt with the import of metal, grain and gas.

He later invested his money, $100 thousand in his business which was dealing with meat processing in Cherkasy oblast. However, his company went bankrupt and was sold out for almost nothing. He became the President of CJSC Scientific-Technical Business Centre for Food Industry.

This is how he rose through the ranks and became a more renowned person in Ukraine. He has a net worth of US$1.6 billion.

6. Petro Poroshenko

He is a Ukrainian businessman and politician who served as the fifth President of Ukraine from 2014 to 2019. Petro Poroshenko also served as the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Minister of Trade and Economic Development in 2012.

Petro began his career by selling cocoa beans which earned him the nickname “Chocolate king”. He headed the Council of Ukraine’s National Bank from 2007 until 2012. Forbes business magazine estimated the net worth of Petro Poroshenko to be around US$1.6 billion.

7. Kostyantin Zhevago

Kostyantin is a Ukrainian billionaire and businessman. He became the first Eastern European to present his company, Ferrexpo to the London Stock Exchange. Kostyantin controls the Finances and Credit group which is one of the largest conglomerates of Ukraine.

He holds the post of FC Vorskla honorary president. Kostyantin was a member of the Parliament of Ukraine from 1998 until 2019. In recent years, he was named the youngest billionaire in Europe who made his fortune.

He owns a bank, Finances and Credit which was one of the Top ten largest Ukrainian banks with more than a hundred branches in Ukraine. His investments are in mining and metallurgical, shipbuilding, engineering, heavy car production, pharmacology and food industries.

8. Serhiy Tihipko

Serhiy is a Ukrainian politician and finance specialist who was also the Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine. He was the minister of Economics in 2000. He was also the Governor of the National Bank of Ukraine from 2002 to 2004.

The interests of Serhiy Tihipko are based on agriculture. He is one of the richest people in Ukraine.

9. Andrey Verevskiy

He is a Ukrainian entrepreneur and former member of the Ukrainian parliament. At the age of 19, Andrey began trading in grain. Andrey founded Kernel Holding which helped it turn into Ukraine’s largest sunflower oil producer over the years.

In 2007, Andrey took his company public and earned $300 million. The stocks of his company reduced but he remained to be one of the richest people in Ukraine. He acquired two oil-extracting factories and a port terminal in Russia.

Victor is the founder of EastOne Group LLC which is an international investing, project funding and financial advisory company based in London. He also owns Interpipe Group and four TV channels and a popular tabloid, Fakty I Kommentarii.
