Ibrahim Celikkol is currently a Turkish TV series and film actor. However, he is also a flashy professional model and was for some time a professional basketball player.

Born on 14th February 1982, the 40-year-old (as of 2022) actor/model is a household name on local Turkish TV. He has also starred in some international dramas and films.

One of his most recent and popular roles was as Mehdi in the popular Turkish TV drama Do臒du臒un Ev Kaderindir (My Home My Destiny). He is also a star in Netflix鈥檚 recent special series Ku艧 U莽u艧u (As the Crow Flies).

At 6 feet and 3 inches (1.95 m), the Turkish actor鈥檚 looks are only second to his looks. Part of the reason he has managed to earn the love and adoration of many television and film enthusiasts.

Celikkol鈥檚 mother is known as Ayper 脟elikkol. She is from a Turkish family who immigrated to Turkey from Thessaloniki, Ottoman Empire (now, Greece).

His father鈥檚 side on the hand is of Arab descent. His father is known as S眉heyl 脟elikkol. Ibrahim’s father was a former football (soccer) player and worked as an officer in the G枚lc眉k Navy. His mother worked at the same place as the bureau chief.

He has a sister named Asl谋 脟elikkol, a volleyball player. The entire 脟elikkol family is largely into sports and sporting activities.

At 18 years of age (2000), S眉heyl 脟elikkol (his father) sadly passed away due to a heart attack. Following the death of his father, he, his mother, and his sister moved to Istanbul.

Before the death of his father, 脟elikkol was a basketball player and was part of the under-20 national basketball team. After his father passed away, he left the sport for good never to return. According to him, being on court reminded him too much of his father and it was better for him to move on.

3. Became A Model After Quitting Basketball

After quitting basketball, 脟elikkol became a model. He did his first catwalk for the brand Vakko. His life was revolutionized when an agency owner gave him his card one day after he arrived in Istanbul.

He was the only Turkish model picked at the age of 19 despite competing against famous models in his initial auditions. Ibrahim then visited Germany, Ankara, Izmir, and the fashion show. He then participated in further fashion events, hired a model, and began earning money.

4. Became an Actor After Meeting Osman Sinav

As a model, Ibrahim Celikkol met Turkish film producer Osman Sinav. Osman Sinav is a film director, producer, and screenwriter. Some of his works include; Kurtlar Vadisi (2003), Uzun Hik芒ye (2012), and Sen Anlat Karadeniz (2018).

Celikkol met Osman Sinav on a chance encounter and that random meeting marked the beginning of his acting career. For his first role, Osman gave him the role of 鈥淐hief Superintendent 艦amil Baturay鈥� in his film 鈥淧ars: Narkoter枚r鈥�.

5. Acting Debut Came In 2008 In the TV series 鈥淧ars: Narkoter枚r鈥�

What would become a successful acting career, Celikkol鈥檚 acting career began in 2008 after getting a role from Osman. Celikkol played 鈥淐hief Superintendent 艦amil Baturay鈥� in 鈥淧ars: Narkoter枚r鈥�, to kickstart his acting life. 2012 would seem his start in the blockbuster film Fetih 1453. In the movie, he played the character 鈥淯lubatl谋 Hasan鈥� to great impact.

Both audiences and critics gave Fetih 1453 high accolades. The film, whose greatest budget was $18.2 million, made $61.2 million at the box office and was dubbed a blockbuster as a result. Fetih 1453 was the fourth-most watched movie in Turkish history, according to the platform “Tum Filmler Seyirci Rekoru – Ilk 100” in 2018.
