Top 10 Interesting Facts about Minako Honda


 

Minako Honda was born in Japan on 31 July 1967. Her father was called Mieko Kudo while her mother is not yet known. She was born at Narimasu Hospital in Narimasu, Itabashi, a special ward located in Tokyo Metropolis, Japan.

She later changed to Minako Kudo but Honda was the one mostly recognized. She was both a singer and an actress. Her family initially resided at Shibamata, Katsushika ut they moved to Asaka, Saitama. She started her schooling at Shinyauri Kindergarten, Asaka. In the article are the top ten Interesting facts about Minako Honda.

1. It was her dream to become a singer

In her childhood, Honda was involved in activities entailing music. She truly loved to sing. It is claimed that her mother was the one who influenced her into music. Her mother also dreamt of becoming a musician.

Minako Honda is thus said to have fulfilled the dream of her mother by becoming a musician. She had written while in 6th Elementary school, ” It would be nice if I could become an actress or a singer.” Her wishes in Elementary school actually became a reality because she became an actress and a singer. 

I think if it could not be her wishes to become a professional singer and an actress, then I wouldn’t be writing about her nor would our blog readers be reading about Honda. So it’s good to have dreams because I may be writing about you next time.

2. She made a debut with the single ” Satsui no Vacane”

Minako Honda became famous after she sang the single Satsui no Vacane. The song became the top 21 on the Oricon Chart. It sold 72, 520 copies then. Though the song is not the most public praised in Minako Honda’s discography but it was one of her best records. She received a Japan Record Award for being the best new artist of the year.

3. Minako Honda She was opportunistic 

After her debut in Satsui no Vacane, Minako exploited the immediate success and was already set for her new hit. She released “1986 nen no Marilyn”. A heated discussion arose from her performance. 

During the performance of her song, Honda was in a navel costume shaking her hips. Actually, her performance was not common for idols and so it was thought to be offensive.

4. Her career in the entertainment industry made a huge step in the 1990s

In 1990, Honda auditioned for a part in the Tokyo production of a Broadway play. The play was actually Miss Saigon. Miss Saigon is a stage musical by Claude-Michael Schönberg and Alain Boublil. The play is ba on Giacomo Puccini’s 1904 opera Madame Butterfly.

It tells the tragic tale of a doomed romance involving an Asian woman abandoned by her American lover. Honda played the role of Kim where she won over 15, 000 other candidates and her career as an actress took a turning point.

5. She was a perfect soprano singer

Minako Honda released many classical songs while she was alive. She had the highest vocal range of all voice types. She was best when it came to the soprano. I think someone should have recommended her to the Acapella company too bad she face an irreversible misfortune in early life.

She also worked for anime production firms. She sang theme songsforseveral anime programs. Anime programs are hand-drawn and computer-generated animation originating from Japan. Simply, anime refers to Japanese animation.

6. She did not abandon pop in her adult career

Unlike currently where singers swerve from one genre of music to another according to trend patterns. For instance, many musicians during the COVID-19 Pandemic generally started creating content about the pandemic. 

Honda became recognized for her vocal improvement in the adult pop genre. Her song ” Tsubasa” is famous for the long note that actually she holds for 30 seconds.

7. Minako Honda was devoted to her career

despite that Honda was ill in 2004, she still performed on stage in December. She had a fever and fatigue. Apparently, when her co-like symptoms persisted, she sought medical attention and was diagnosed with acute myelogenous leukemia.

8. Honda suffered from the acute myelogenous leukemia

Although Honda was able to celebrate her 38th birthday, she had a relapse shortly afterward. She again sought medical attention and Chromosome aberration was discovered in her system. 

She received a dose of ant-cancer medicine from the United States to treat it. She recovered for a while but she suffered another relapse

9. Minako Honda died at an age of 38

It was not long from when Honda had celebrated her 38th birthday. The chains of complications in her body kept becoming many and many. First, it was acute leukemia, second was Chromosome aberration, and on  October 21, 2005, Honda developed lung complications.

Honda fell into a coma on 3 November 2005. After three days, on 6th November 2005, Honda died at the Juntendo University Hospital, Bunkyo, Tokyo. A moment of silence to our musical legend pop singer Minako Honda.

 10. Minako Honda left a legacy

Honda’s discography was overwhelming classical. She used her body movements perfectly. As a musician, she had a total of 29 singles with Satsui no Vacane being her debut. In the year 1987 only is when she managed to produce 6 singles. She was highly spirited I can say.

She had sixteen Studio albums, two live albums, eight compilations, one movie soundtrack, and 8 DVD/VHS videos. in theatre, Honda featured in 8 theatre films as an actress. 

Honda was one of the promising directors in the future music and film industry after retirement if it were not for death back in 2005. She was a sure winner of many accolades and an international reputation for her charming acting and singing skills. The world will surely miss her sexy fashion and I’ve performances in the mid-1980s.
