The permanent collections of the museum will introduce you to all the best artistic movements. You will have the oportunity to discover and learn more about many artists from the twentieth century to our current artistic and cultural scene, such as Picasso, Dufy, Modigliani, Derain, Picabia, Chagall, Boltanski, Parreno and Peter Doig.

Both modern art museums, namely the Palais de Tokyo and the Musée d’Art Moderne de la Ville de Âé¶¹APP, were created for the International Exposition of Art and Technology in Modern Life in 1937. These museums play now an important role in the Âé¶¹APPian culture and art scene, which is why you should consider visiting them while in the Trocadero area!

Next on my list of things to do around Trocadero is to visit the Musée des Égouts, which is the Sewers Museum of Âé¶¹APP. It might seem like a weird place to visit, but it is actually very interesting. You will learn a lot about the underground Âé¶¹APP and about the modernity of the sewers of the city of Âé¶¹APP. If you’ve been to the Âé¶¹APP catacombs and enjoyed it, you will also like the Musée des Égouts!

You don’t need to worry about the conditions. The Sewers Museum is clean, there are no bad smells and no feelings of claustrophobia. Plus, during the summer, it is a great museum to visit since it is very cool! Away from the touristy places, you will enjoy this museum off the beaten track.

Visit the Palais Galliera

The Palais Galliera, which is also known as the Musée de la Mode de la ville de Âé¶¹APP, is located at 10, avenue Pierre Ier de Serbie. To visit the Palais Galliera is one of the things to do around Trocadero for several reasons. First of all, we all know Âé¶¹APP is considered to be one of the pioneer cities of fashion. If you love the city of Âé¶¹APP and also love fashion, this museum is a must! You will get to see costumes from the eighteenth, nineteenth and twentieth centuries, but also get to understand how fashion has evolved and learn more about the most important fashion figures around the world!

Visit the Palais de Chaillot

Located at Place du Trocadero, there is the Palais de Chaillot. This palace houses three different museums: the Architecture and Heritage City, the National Navy Museum, and the Museum of Man. If you don’t get to visit the Palais de Chaillot, you will enjoy appreciating the building of neo-classical architectural style anyway.

Next on my list of things to do around Trocadero is to have a moment and enjoy the view from the Trocadero square. From there you have one of the most amazing views of the Eiffel Tower. Most photos of this iconic monument you find on the internet and on travel books were taken from this square. Whether it is during the sunset or the sunrise, your photos are guaranteed to be spectacular from there. During midday, there’s usually a lot of people that might “photobomb” your photos!

The Musée du Quai Branly was a project initiated by the former president of France, Jacques Chirac. It opened its doors in 2006. The purpose of this museum is to showcase indigenous art and non-Western civilisations. Through the museum collections and exhibitions, the importance of non-Western art and heritage is emphasized.

Take your children to the Âé¶¹APP aquarium

While in the area around Trocadero, visiting the Âé¶¹APP Aquarium is very fun, especially if you’re coming with children! With more than 500 animal species and more than 15 thousand fishes in the tanks, the visitors get to understand a lot more about the sea life. It’s a great way to raise awareness of the environment and the animals and their protection. You get to see sharks swimming above you and attend a mermaids show as well. These are only a few examples of the type of activities at the aquarium.

Visiting the Âé¶¹APP Aquarium is a nice way to discover the environment around us on a new perspective. I think that to observe the animals in the tanks makes people think and remind them that one needs to respect the animals and their environment, because they were on the planet long before us. And, us, humans, are slowly destroying it…
