Jimmy Lin was born on  October 15, 1974, in Taipei, Taiwan. He is a Taiwanese singer, actor, entrepreneur, photographer, and race car, driver. He is active in his career to date. 

 He is the second born in their family of five children. Jimmy dated actress  Ruby Lin, his co-star in the film ‘School Days’ in 1995. At that Jimmy was popular having released several albums while Ruby was unknown, acting on her first project. However, they later separated due to distance.

Later, on October 2009, Lin announced his engagement to model Kelly Chen. They are blessed with three children, Kimi Lin (son), Jenson Lin (son) and Kyson Lin (son).

 Lin is one of a successful singer. He has released many albums during his musical career such as Not Every Love Song Has Fond Memories (1992). Go For a Walk (2000), Best of Jimmy Lin (2004),  Men are Easily Deceived (1997), Why am I always Hurt (1992), I Am Still Myself (1997), and Dream is Ahead (1995) and many more.

1. He Became a Manager at a Young Age

When he was only 16, still studying Drama and Photography in Hua Gan, he was discovered during a performance in school and offered to be a manager.

 At first, Lin rejected his first manager鈥檚 offer to enter the entertainment industry, during this time he was the star of the campus. However, he eventually took up the offer becoming one of the young managers.

2. He Became a Superstar Overnight after the Release of his Debut Album

It is remarkable how Jimmy become a superstar. It took one night for Jimmy to be known worldwide.

 At age of 17, in the year 1992, the actor became a superstar overnight following the release of his debut album known as 鈥楨very Love Song Has Fond Memories.鈥�

Gaining fame across Asia gained him the nickname 鈥楲ittle Whirlwind鈥� and in Taiwan, he was nickname 鈥楲ittle Four Heavenly Kings.鈥�

3. The Youngest Singer to Hold a Concert at the Hong Kong Coliseum

At the age of 18 years old Lin hold a concert at the Hong Kong Coliseum which is commonly known as the Hung Hom Coliseum, it is a multi-purpose indoor arena.

At that age, Jimmy left a legacy of being the youngest singer ever in history to hold a concert at the Hong Kong Coliseum. 

4. He Served as a Military

In 1994, there was compulsory military service and in October of that year, Lin entered the military like any other ordinary male of his age.

 Jimmy knew him joining the military would affect his career tremendously but he did not seek special treatment from the government despite being a star.

In the military despite him being treated badly by his seniors for being a celebrity, he performed well as a soldier and received awards for excellent performance.

5. He Founded his own Company, Jimmy Creative

He founded the company after returning from compulsory military service. Jimmy stayed away from singing and acting for 2 years while serving in the military.

On his return, he returned to singing which was not easy since he had been overshadowed by many newcomers. Despite the challenges, he worked hard and even founded his own company known as 鈥楯immy Creative鈥� which produced his albums under the 鈥楩orward鈥� label.

6. Top 10 Rally Racer in Mainland China

It is interesting how Lin joined racing and managed to become one of the top 10 rally racers. It all started in 1997 when the actor decided to realize his dream of car racing. In one of the races in 1997 he almost died after he encountered a crash and the car exploded a second after escaping from the car.

Despite the accident, Lin did not give up on his racing dream and kept trying to better himself. Jimmy often says, 鈥淲hen I race, I am not racing against others, but against myself.鈥� Today, he is one of the top 10 rally racers in Mainland China.

7. Hosted the First 鈥楯immy Cup

It is interesting to know that in history Jimmy was the first person to host the 鈥楯immy Cup鈥� making it remarkable. On October 23, 2005, is when Lin hosted the first 鈥楯immy Cup.鈥�

It is a racing event where mainly male celebrities race. These events aim to increase the awareness of traffic safety to the public as well as to promote the love of car racing.

8. Started the IT Company

Lin is a hardworking man who never fears starting and putting ideas to function. In the year 2000 together with his friends that specialize in writing software for surveillance and banking started the IT company Inwellcom, Tech, co.

He became the youngest director of the Network Association in Taiwan. Lin鈥檚 house in Taipei has the latest high-tech surveillance equipment manufactured by this company (Lin鈥檚 company).

 In 2006, on talk shows, he said that he can control more than 100 home appliances remotely from his PDA.

9. Successful Businessman

Jimmy Lin is a very successful businessman. He has opened several different types of businesses.  He has set up a business on the internet together with his brother known as 鈥楯R鈥� (Jimmy Racing). The online business sells goods such as sunglasses and bikinis. In the year 2004, he opened Roadstar, a car dealership that sells high -end of sports cars in Taipei.

He as well opened a restaurant in 2006, known as 鈥楾he Dream Family Caf茅鈥� located in Jing Hua Cheng shopping mall in Taipei, Taiwan. In the year 2009, he started another hustle and he became a part-time wedding photographer for the Shanghai CHUECH studio. Lastly, Lin owns real estate in Taiwan, Shanghai, and Beijing.

The singer and actor have released many albums in his career journey. Despite facing challenges like losing fame and being overthrown by other singers when he went to serve in the military, he has kept pushing and working.

Not Every Love Song Found Memories is the album that made him a superstar over the night in 1992. Some of his other albums include; Summer of 鈥�92 (1992), Why Am I Always Hurt (1992), Thinking of You (1993), Fiery Heart (1994), Goodbye My Friend (1994), Saying Goodbye to Yesterday (1994), Men Are Easily Deceived (1997), I am Still Myself (1997) and expect (1996).
