Jiro Wang is a well-known Taiwanese actor and singer who began his career as a model. He was nicknamed Wang Tung Ch’eng. He was born on 24^th August 1981 in Taipei, Taiwan.

He was born to a war veteran and his mother was a custom dressmaker. It is his mother who partly motivated him from her craft work watching her when he was young. His father died while he was at the age of eighteen.

His love for art began at an early age when he was part of an underground band called Karma during High school. At this stage, he was able to compose lyrics that were among their most popular songs.

He graduated with a degree in Advertising Design from the Fu Shin Trade and Arts College.

1. Jiro Wang had a Difficult Adolescence

The many struggles for Jiro Wang in his adolescence began when his father died while he was at the age of Eighteen. His father鈥檚 death left the family with a huge burden of debts to repay.

To help his mother, repay the debt, Wang tried his hand at several part-time jobs. He was involved in jobs that included waiting tables at bars, fashion retail assistant, part-time model, flyer distribution, dressing up as a mascot for Taipei鈥檚 zoo mall, and construction work.

These jobs sustained him through his studies as well as helped his mother in her job. Wang also joined the army for two years before he embarked on his art career in 2003.

2. He Began his Career in the Commercial and Modeling Industry

Wang joined the commercial and modeling industry after he graduated from the Trade and Arts College.  He was signed by the BMG label which was interested in forming the 鈥�3JPlan鈥� together with Jordan Chan and Jay Chuo.

However, the BMG stocks crashed, and the 3Js were shelved. After the crash, he continued his career in the industry working in commercial modeling and fashion design backstage.

Later in 2004, he began his acting career in a television series called 鈥淭he Pawn Shop No 8鈥� This was the beginning of his success in his career journey in acting and singing.

3. He Was The First Member to Join Fahrenheit

Fahrenheit was a Taiwanese band that was formed in 2005 by HIM International Music, Comic International Production, and GMM Grammy in Thailand. The band was made up of artists who included Wu Chun, Calvin Chen, Aaron Yan, and Jiro Wang.

Jiro Wang was the baritenor vocalist in the group. He is fluent in the language and therefore did most of the rap parts in the songs.

However, the group went on an indefinite hiatus following the departure of Wu Chun One of the group members. Other members moved on to engage in solo concerts.  

4. Jiro Wang is Honored for his Utmost Generosity

He is depicted as a very generous person due to his engagements in helping the needy in society. Following his father鈥檚 death and the struggles that followed thereafter, he learned the art of helping the needy and the privilege of being able to give.

He uses his Weibo account to advocate for various charitable causes, especially those relating to elderly street hawkers and aged war veterans.

He was able to use his celebrity status to help charitable organizations such as Taiwan鈥檚 Syinlu Social Welfare Foundation.

5. He is a World Class Designer  

As a graduate of design, Wang has found great interest and passion in the field of art. Apart from his successful venture in music and acting he has had a sensational input in the design industry.

He began his fashion label on February 14, 2010, with the label slogan with the motto 鈥淟ove, Life, and Peace鈥�.

He designed an exhibit for the World Trade Centre of Hong Kong which was in line with the 2014 FIFA World Cup.

6. Wang is Known as the Male Lead in the Taiwanese Drama KO One

The Taiwanese Drama KO One also known as T.W. drama is a dramatic television program with stories usually dramatizing relationships. In the program, he plays the character Wang Da Dong where he got his nickname.

He has extensively been involved in many shows as an actor.

He also emerged as the most popular contestant in the 鈥淎ction Guy鈥� category when Transformers: Age of Extinction launched an online Chinese casting contest.

7. He is the Producer of 鈥淭he Crossing Hero鈥�

Wang became a producer of a drama series in 2014. The drama series was called The Crossing Hero.

The series became very popular and was able to hit 2.72 million views on its premiere episode of its first two hours. He was also the male lead in the series.

 According to statistics, in march 2018 the topic 鈥淭he Crossing Hero鈥� was read more than 14 million times. It gained popularity within a short period.  

8. Jiro Wang is a Renowned Singer

His passion for singing began at an early age. He first composed lyrics as part of an underground band named Karma during his High School.

He released his first solo album on August 24^th, 2012 which was his 31^st birthday. The first solo album was called 鈥淲hat are you waiting For鈥�.  

Since then, he has produced several songs that hit to date.

9. He is an Award Winning Artist

Wang has excelled immeasurably as an artist. He has won several awards including, the most popular, most Boundary Crossing Artist, Asia Star Award, Stylish Model Award, and Influential Asian Versatile/ All rounder Celebrity among others.

One of the notable awards is the Top 10 Hottest Artist in the China Entertainment Television Awards in 2010.

10. His Love life with Lena is Controversial

Jiro wang and his Japanese singer Lena Fujii have had controversial issues in their relationship. The rumors about the two artists had been around since 2009.

Lena claimed to have a child with another married man which broke Wang. He recently released the song 鈥淕o For Love Faraway鈥� as he hinted that he had broken up with Lena.

Jiro wang has successfully built his career and become one of the best singers and artists in Taiwan. His contribution to society is also unmatched.
