Dee Hsu was born on June 14, 1978, in Taipei, Taiwan. She is an Actress, Singer and television host, also formally a ballroom dancer. She has been active in her career from 1994 to date.

She has two elder sisters and her being the last born. Hsu Sihsien is the eldest sister followed by Barbie Hsu second born. Her sister Barbie Hsu is a singer, actress and television host as well. Dee and Barbie were both members of a pop Duo known as S.O.S (Sister of Shu). The name was later changed to A.S.O.S (All Sisters of Shu) due to a copyright issue with the music label.

Hsu is well known for her quick-witted caustic humour.  In the year 1997, Hsu and her sister put their singing career to rest and she went on to host various Tv programs such as Guess Guess Guess which she co-hosted with Barbie and Kangsi Coming among others.

When Dee Hsu and her sister put their singing career aside in 1999, Dee went on to host various TV programs. Some of these Tv programs include Guess Guess Guess from 1998 to 2006 and Kangsi Coming variety show in the year 2004 -2016.

Other Television Variety shows include Gourmet Secrets of the Stars hosted in 2007-2008, an S-style show in 2016-2017, Sister’s Flower shop in 2018-2019, Dee’s Talk in 2021 and 100% Entertainment in 1998-2006 among others.

It is interesting to know that Dee Hsu has received several awards and nominations. She has received the Golden Bell Awards, an annual Taiwanese television production award presented in October or November each year by the Bureau of Audiovisual and Music Industry Development.

In the year 2004, she was nominated as the Best Supporting Actress in her work in ‘Say Yes Enterprise’. She won the Best Host in Variety Programme in her work in Kangsi Coming in the year 2005. In 2006, 2007, and 2008, Dee was nominated for Best Host in a Variety Programme for her work in Kangsi Coming.

4. Dee has Hosted Several Awards Ceremony

In the year 2004, she hosted the 39^th Golden Bell Awards Ceremony, she has well hosted the 17^th Golden Melody Awards together with Matilda Tao in the year 2006.

In 2008, Dee together with Matilda Tao, Patty Hou and Barbie Hsu hosted the 19^th Golden Melody Awards, in 2010, Hsu and Harlem Yu hosted 21^st Golden Melody Awards and 47^th Golden Horse Awards she hosted with Kevin Tsai in the same year.

Dee Hsu is a Taiwanese singer famously known in and out of Taiwan. Some of the songs she has sung include the following;

6. Her Sister is an Actress

Dee had two sisters and she was the youngest. Hsu Sihsien was the eldest sister and Barbie Hsu was the second elder sister.

Barbie Hsu was an actress, singer and television host. They partnered with her smaller sister to form the ASOS pop duo in 1994. Barber is best known for her leading role in the television series Meteor Garden (2001). And she co-hosted a television variety show ‘Guess Guess Guess’ with Dee Hsu from 1998 to 2000.

7. She was a Member of the Pop Duo

From the year 1994 to 2001, Dee Hsu was a member of the pop duo called SOS whose name was later changed to ASOS for legal reasons.

This ASOS pop duo was formed by Dee Hsu together with her second eldest sister Barber Hsu. The name of the group stood for ‘Sister of Shu’ (SOS) and after the name change it stood for ‘Adult Sisters of Shu’ (ASOS).

8. Dee Co-hosted Television Variety Show with Her Sister

Dee Hsu has hosted or co-hosted a number of popular Taiwanese television variety shows. She co-hosted the ‘Guess Guess Guess’ with her sister Barbie Hsu, which was her first appearance as the co-host, of a Variety show in 1998.

She co-hosted the show for two years together with her sister, and the show was broadcasted weekly free-to-air on China Television, Singapore’s Media Channel u. and 8TV of Malaysia. The TV Variety Show ended in 2012 after 16 years of its airing.

9. Dee Starred in a Television Series

Dee starred has starred in several Television series.  In 2002, he hosted a television show known as ‘Six Friends’ in the role of Hua Tzu. She as well hosted the ‘Say Yes Enterprise’ Taiwanese romance television series directed by Doze Niu in 2004 in the role of Hsu Hsiao-hung.

In the year 2013, he has well starred in PMAM and hosted as Hsiao S not forgetting the Meteor Garden a mainland Chinese television series, where she starred as Dao Ming Zhuang.

10. She Dated an Artist

It is said that Hsu dated Micky Huang for four years until their controversial breakup in 2000 at the height of Huang’s popularity. Micky Huang is a Taiwanese comedian, television host, Master of Ceremonies and actor. He has worked for many television stations like his ex-girlfriend.

Although, Dee Hsu is married to Taiwanese businessman Mike Hsu in 2005 and they are blessed with 3 beautiful children. She came publicly and proclaimed that Huang is the ex-boyfriend she loved the most.
