Chang is a Taiwanese actress who was born on 4 September 1982, in Munich, Bavaria, West Germany. She however lived in Taiwan as a Chinese actress. Her birth name is Ning Chang, Zhang Jun Ning but she was also nicknamed (A Ning, Jun Xiao Ning).

Chang’s father’s name is Chang Chih-Ming while her mother’s name is Cheng Ju-Ching. She also has her sister who is called Chang Ying.

She attended the National Taipei University which is a national university in Taiwan where she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in law. She also graduated with a master’s degree from the Institute of Industrial Economics at the National Central University which is located in Taiwan.

She made her very first attempt by playing in the “Meteor Garden 2” in 2001. After she began her career in acting, she became a professional in a short duration winning several awards and nominations.

1. Janine Chang Hopes to be Married Before Attaining the Age of 40

Janine has been a very successful actress however, she had many controversial relationships and remains hopeful to be married by 40.

She is not however one to be worried about her love life considering how successful she has been in her career. In an interview, Janine shared that she was not bothered at all about marriage although all her close friends including Ivy Chen were married and had children.

She also said that she is a simple lady who wants to be involved with a good man rather than a high-profile romance.

2. Janine has Excelled Academically

Janine did not only excel in a magnificent career but her excellence began early in life with her spectacular academic performance.

She obtained her bachelor’s degree in law from the National Taipei University in Taiwan. This was just before the year 2000 when the institution was named the College of Law and Business, National Chung Hsing University.

She furthered her studies and graduated with a master’s in 2010 from the Institute of Industrial Economics at the public research university, National Central University.

3. She Fell in Love with her Ex, Nanxian 

Hans Zhang who played the role of Zhan Nanxian in the novel The Warm Chord was the high school sweetheart of Janine Chang. Janine however left for England while Nanxian was left and built a big tech company.

When Janine return she took a job in her ex’s company. The long-lost love ignited deep in her and she fell in love with Nanxian yet again. This gave Nanxian a lot of excitement since he always waited for her to return.

However, after Janine left he was engaged to Bo Yixin who prevented them from getting back together.

4. She was Nominated for Best Supporting Actress

Janine Chang was nominated as the best-supporting actress in 2007, during the 44th Golden Horse Awards. She was nominated for the work “What on Earth Have I Done Wrong”?

The film is a Taiwanese comedy that was co-produced, co-written as well as produced by Doze Niu.

Niu was featured in the film as the film director-producer who was struggling. Janine who played the role of Ningning acted as Niu’s live-in girlfriend.

5. She was Ranked 78th on Forbes China Celebrity 100

The Forbes China Celebrity 100 is a document published annually by Forbes that ranks the influence of different celebrities in China. In 2019, Janine Chang was ranked number 78 on the China Celebrities.

Janine Chang publically declared her support of cotton from Xinjiang in China where most companies had a lot of concern. All the concerns expressed by the various companies resulted from human rights abuse.

The Xinjiang internment camps have been operated by the government of Xinjiang and have been found to violate human rights. The camps have been criticized by several governments and human rights organizations.

Some of the human rights abuse include; alleging genocide, rape, torture as well as mistreatment.

7. She Took a Job as an Executive Assistant to her ex, Nanxian

Chang played the role of Nuan in the novel, The Warm Chord by An Ning while Hans Zhang acted the role of Nanxian.

They were both college sweethearts but fate pulled them apart with Nanxian heading to success while Janine left for England. Nanxian was able to establish a successful company together with his college friends.

After Janine returned to her homeland eight years later, she became the executive assistant to her college ex, Nanxian.

Chang confessed that as she was growing up, she got very anxious so easily and she realized that acting was one way of helping her to relax.

Janine Chang was picked as the new face of the Japanese Preservative for the Fancl brand.
