Ariel Lin was born on 29^th October 1982 in Yilan, Taiwan. Lin Yi Chen was the name she was given after her birth. She began her career in 2002 at the age of 22 years.

She became very successful in her profession within a short period. She gained a lot of fame from the remarkable influence that she had on the bases of her career.

She is both a singer as well as an actor who gained popularity after her role as Yuan Xiangqin in the drama 鈥淚t Started with a Kiss鈥� in 2005. The Chinese Fantasy drama named 鈥淭he Little Fairy鈥� in 2006 also played a big role in her fame.

She won many awards as the best actress for the role she played in the film 鈥淭hey Kissed Again鈥� in 2007 and 鈥淚n Time with You鈥� in 2011.

1. Ariel Lin was Raised in Poor Background

Lin was born in Yilan, Taiwan into a family that had a middle income. She had a younger brother and her parent separated when she was still young and later divorced while she was in high school.

She was raised in poverty for many years until she began to take care of her family in her second year of high school. By then her mother was very sick suffering from a Cerebellar stroke.

Lin was however able to reconcile with her parents back together in 2014.

2. She Entered a Beauty Contest While she was 18

Lin began competing in beauty contests when she was 18 years of age. Her main desire for entering her  first competition was to win the prize money so that she could buy a new computer for her brother.

She performed extremely well and won first place which made her accepted into the top university in Taiwan.

She was featured in films in China as her classmate copied notes for her.

3. Her Talent was Discovered in a Taiwanese Beauty Contest

Ariel Lin was first noticed in a Taiwanese beauty contest. She made her first attempt in 2002 in the television drama 鈥淭rue Love 18鈥�.

Two years later in 2004, she also featured in the drama 鈥淟ove Me, If You Can鈥�. This is the drama where she was nominated the best actress during the 40^th Golden Horse Awards.

Her fame also escalated after featuring in the drama series My Secret Garden and Love Contract.

She also sang the song titled 鈥淎lone in the Northern hemisphere鈥� which is the theme song for Love Contract.

4. She was Married to a Businessman

After Lin completed her master鈥檚 in Arts from the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama University of London, she was immediately married.

The Couple married in 2014 when they were both introduced by a mutual friend. Lin announced her pregnancy in 2021 after the media broke the news and she gave birth to a girl in the same year.

Ariel Lin鈥檚 fame escalated massively in 2005 after the drama 鈥淚t Started with a Kiss鈥�. During the famous Taiwanese drama, she played the role of Yuan Xiangqin.

The spectacular series was the top rating in entire Taiwan and its fame went across Asia. She also played the Seventh Fairy Maiden in the Chinese drama 鈥淭he Little Fairy鈥� in 2006.

The series was exceptionally popular with a high rating that made her so famous in the Chinese market.

6. She was the First Actress in History to Win an Award for an Idol Drama

Ariel Lin later reunited with Joe Cheng who is a Taiwanese actor, singer, and model in the series 鈥淭hey Kiss Again鈥�. This was a continuation of the earlier drama called 鈥淚t Started with a Kiss鈥�.

鈥淭hey Kiss Again鈥� had a rating of 3.43 thus becoming a highly rated idol drama. Lin鈥檚 play in the drama won the best actress award during the 43^rd Golden Bell Awards.

This made her the first actress in history to ever win an award in the idol drama. She also released her first single which is the theme song for the video game (Lunia) called 鈥淎dventure of Lunia鈥�.

7. She Released Her First Album in 2009

She first released her first album 鈥淏lissful Encounter鈥� for which she sold about 20,000 copies in two days. This happened after she signed a three-year and three-album contract with a record and entertainment label called Avex Taiwan.

She featured in a romantic drama in 2011 known as 鈥淚n Time with You鈥� together with Bolin Chen who was a Taiwanese actor. This was rated the best Taiwanese idol drama of that year gaining tremendous popularity in entire Asia.

Liz also won the best actress in the series during the Golden Bell Award. She was also featured in the historical drama Prince of Lan Ling in 2013. In the same year, Forbes listed her as 85^th most influential celebrity in China.

9. Lin Mostly Focuses on Films

After her career in television shows, she decided to focus majorly on films. In 2004, she was featured in 鈥淪weet Alibis鈥� which was later nominated as the best Taiwanese film during the 6^th Straits Film and Television Awards.

She also played in 鈥淕o Lala Go鈥� in 2015 which was a continuation of the previous hit 鈥淕o Lala Go鈥�. The second film however was a more critical and commercial flop.
