Ethan Juan is a well-known Taiwanese actor and model. He was born and brought up in Taichung, Taiwan in his military family in November 1982.

His father was a soldier while his mother was a military nurse. His younger brother also works in the air force department as a pilot.

During his childhood as he grew up, he was a very competitive swimmer. This helped him greatly to enroll in the reputable National Teaching First Senior High School. He however dropped out of the institution but later graduated after transferring to five different schools.

As a result of the part-time job earning and graduating with a degree from Hsing Wu University in tourism, he began his career as a model in 2002. He became very popular in 2008 with the television series Fated to Love You.

In 2010, he won the title of the Best Actor award held during the 47^th Golden Horse Awards for the role that he played in Monga.

1. Ethan Juan Comes from a Military Family

Most of his family members were in the military serving where his father was a soldier and his mother was a military nurse. His younger brother too grew up to be a pilot in the air forces.

Ethan also played a role in the military by serving there for one year. His service was due to his flat feet which was a recognized medical condition.

He was discharged from the military in 2013 and his long term finally expired with a Catwalk.

2. He was a Very Rebellious Child

As Ethan grew up in his childhood, he was very rebellious, and that was the reason behind changing school five different times.

He took long time to graduate from high school due to his behaviors, and everyone almost gave up on him. Only his grandfather was supportive of him after everyone gave up on him.

During their first start out of showbiz, he could not make both heads meet, and therefore his grandfather would send him some money and not tell anyone.

3. Juan Graduated with a Major in Tourism

After several changes in schools, Juan finally graduated with a major in tourism from Hsing Wu University. He was noticed to have talent by the talent agency after he accompanied his friend for the audition. He later began his career in showbiz by watching Penny Tai鈥檚 Music video.

4. He Began his Career at Catwalk Modeling Agency

His first career in the entertainment industry began at the Catwalk Modeling Agency. In his career as a model, he featured in many music videos of some prominent artists including A-Mei, Stefanie Sun, and S.H.E.

He made his first attempt in the television series (Michael the Archangel) in 2004. He also took other dramas such as Summer x Summer in 2006, Green Forest, and My home in 2005.

However, even after Ethan had proved to be a great actor, his career did not still take off.

5. Juan Breakthrough Came in After the Drama 鈥楩ated to Love You鈥�

Though Juan had proved to be a great actor and he did not manage to break through, he finally made it in 2008. The drama 鈥淔ated to Love You鈥� was the most rated idol drama in entire Taiwan.

In the drama, he played Ji Cunxi in the romantic drama series which gained an instant hit and also earned six award nominations.

This great drama was also followed by another hit in which Juan played the main role in the drama My Queen in 2009.

6. He Won the Best Leading Actor Award

After the massive career breakthrough, Ethan won the Best Leading Actor award during the 47^th Golden Horse Awards. The Golden Horse Awards is a great film festival and a musical ceremony that is usually held once a year in Taiwan.

The award was a result of the role he played in the gangster film Monga in 2009 where he made a name for himself in the film.

7. Juan is Featured in Many Films

Juan has been featured in many films since 2007. Some of the great films he played in include; Brotherhood of Legio in 2007, where he played the role of Ah Jian, and Mongo in 2010, where he played the role of Monk (He Tianyou).

He also featured in the film love in 2012, where he played the role of Xiao Kuan, and Paradise in Service in 2014, where he played the role of Xiao Bao among others.

Juan began playing different roles in the television series in 2004. Some of the fascinating series include Michael the Archangel鈥檚 Dance in 2004, where he played the role of Ghost, Green Forest, and my home in 2005, he played the role of Owen.

In the series My Queen, in 2009, he played the role of Lucas, and The Weasel Grave in 2017, he played the role of Hu Bayi

9. Juan Was Nominated for Several Awards

Ethan Juan was nominated for several awards in some of the roles he played. He was nominated for the Best Supporting Actor in the film 鈥淣ever Said Goodbye鈥� during the 8^th Macau International Movie Festival in 2016.

He was also nominated for the Best Actor (Ancient Drama) in the film Legend of Fuyao during the 24^th Huading Awards.
