Eric Chou was born on June 22, 1995, in Taiwan. He is a Taiwanese singer-songwriter.  He comes from family of three, he has a elder brother, Alex and younger brother, Jimmy/James. The older brother Alex is also active as a singer.

He developed the need to become a singer when he was nine years old . His uncle brought him to watch Jay Chou’s concert rehearsal. Chou says when he had him sing song known as ‘Hair like Snow’ that was the moment he was determined to become a singer-songwriter.

During his musical career Eric has released several Albums. Some this albums include ‘My Way to Love’, ‘What Love Has Taught Us’, ‘The Chaos After You’, ‘Freedom’ and ‘When We Were Young’.

Eric Chou is a Taiwanese singer-songwriter. He has been given the name 鈥淜ing of the lovelorn people鈥� by the Taiwanese. He has written and produced many songs. Some of his songs include the following;

How Have You Been (2016), What鈥檚 Wrong (2019), You Don鈥檛 Belong to Me, Unbreakable Love (2017), The Chaos After You (2017), Freedom (2019), The Way You Make Me Feel (2017), Smile With a Broken Heart (2017) among others.

This is one of the amazing facts about Eric Chou. He comes from a family of singers and songwriters.  Eric has two brothers younger brother James and a big brother Alex. His big brother, Alex is a singer and songwriter.

Alex made his debut singing the revised theme song 鈥楾ake You Fly鈥� in March 2015, for the game 鈥極nly Dance 3鈥�. In October 2015, he released his first creative mini-album 鈥榊ou鈥�. Alex has sang several songs such as Fly You Away (2015), So I Left (2015), You Made My Heart Go (2015), We鈥檙e All Fools (2021), and Hard to Let Go (2021) among others.

3. Eric鈥檚 Dream of becoming a Singer Started when he was 9

Eric Chou鈥檚 dream of becoming a Singer-songwriter started when he was very young. At age of nine, one of his uncles carried him along to come and watch Jay Chou鈥檚 (a Taiwanese singer, songwriter, Record producer, actor, rapper, and television personality) concert rehearsal.

 Chou says that when he had Jay Chou sing 鈥楬air Like Snow鈥� that was the time he became determined to be a singer-songwriter. He just wanted to be a good singer like Jay Chou and that鈥檚 how his dream of music began.

4. Chou Learned to Play the Piano

When the singer was only 12, they moved to Boston, USA with his family. While he was here, he started learning piano. Chau recalled not being able to sit still when he first started learning the piano but his mother pushed him.

Piano eventually became his outlet to express his emotions and feelings and during his free time he started to play more piano to pastime when he was in the USA.

5. He was Educated

Chou did not only focus on music but his parents ensured that he was educated. When his family moved to the USA from Taiwan, he attended school  in USA.

Eric attended Fay School (an independent, coeducational day and boarding school in Boston) and Northfield Mount Hermon School many people refer to it as NMH, it is a co-educational preparatory school in Gill, Massachusetts in the United States. This proves that he was educated despite his music career.

6. His Music is Based on Experience

Chou does not only write random music; he writes his music based on experience or an aspect. Most of his songs are inspired by movies he watches, about his friends and his own experience.

For instance, when he was still living in Boston USA, he wrote a song known as 鈥楾he Distance of Love.鈥� This song was inspired by his personal experience, of his failed attempt to impress a girl he liked from high school. He as well said 鈥淚 thought I鈥檇 really get into music to make myself appear more charming, and that was actually the initial motivation,鈥�.

7. His Second Album 鈥淲hat Love Has Taught Us鈥� Made him Popular

Chou released his second studio album on August 5, 2016, known as What Love Has Taught Us. The album contained hit songs likes of 鈥楬ow Have You Been?鈥�, this single topped the KKBOX Mandarin Weekly Singles Chart for 30 consecutive weeks, and the music video reached 185 million views as of July 2022.

The single in the album has made him popular and has as well earned him the title 鈥楰ing of lovelorn people鈥�. This album at large has achieved success, and a solo concert, This is Love, has been announced to promote the album.

8. He was the Youngest Singer to Receive the Artist of the Year Awards

It is amazing to know that Eric Chou was the youngest to receive the Artist of the Year Award. Eric was one of the artists performing at the 12^th KKBOX Music Awards (is a music streaming service developed in 2005 by KKBOX a software company in Taipei, Taiwan.

This Service mainly targets the music markets of East and Southeast Asia) in 2017 where he was finally awarded the Artist of the Year Award.

9. Eric鈥檚 Tickets Sold-out Quickly

It is not obvious for any musician to sell all his/her tickets and to add on it very quickly. It is amazing to know that Eric Chou is one of the favoured and loved musicians by many.

When Eric announced his ticket selling on August 2017, for his second concert tour 鈥�22 TWENTY-TWO鈥� in Taipei the tickets sold out within 6 minutes, which is amazing right? The second date was added and tickets sold out again within an hour.

10. Served as a Composer for the Chinese Television Series

In the year 2016, he was chosen to serve as a composer for the Chinese television series Magical Space-Time.

 This Chinese Television series was directed by Fu-Hsiang Hsu Filming the series started on January 20, 2016, in Beijing and ended on March 27, 2016.
