Christen Linder, one of the leading master carpenters of the early 18th century in the lower Simmen and Kander valleys, constructed the farmhouse for Hans Rebmann in 1728. The brick basement housed a wine cellar, storage space, and possibly a small animal stable. There is now a museum cooper’s workshop there. The upper floors housed the farming family’s apartments.
6.What is located on the south of the stunning house?
South of the house is a storehouse built in 1720 by the same carpenter. The two-story log structure is supported by a brick foundation. The arcades on three sides are protected from storm damage by a wide overhanging shingle roof that is weighted down with stones. The Spycher was used to store the peasant household’s crops and valuables.
7.The third building of the museum is known as the Trottenscheune
The Trottenscheune, also known as Trüel, was built in the 18th century. A log construction was also constructed on the brick foundation, but in an unique design. It is located on the property’s outskirts and houses a large grape press.
The R.Huber-Regez family acquired the Trüel through the vineyard cooperative and donated it to the foundation. Other Spiezer Bäuert winegrowers’ grapes were pressed there as well. In the same building, there is also a display of vineyard materials and machinery, as well as a wine cellar.
