1. He was born into a sporting family

He was the son of Doris and Peter Josi, his mother Doris was a former national team swimmer and his father played competitive soccer.

This path equipped him with the onset skills required to survive in the field of sports, he played soccer and hockey from a young age before committing to ice hockey at the age of 10.

His older brother and father also participated in playing ice hockey. His father served on the board of directors for SC Bern while his brother competed with HC Bern Altstadt in SwissDiv3.

2. He  was named the 7^th captain in Predators history in 2017

Josi made his first appearance for the Predators organization during the 2010_11 season.

He unleashed his skills and scored his first impressive goal on q0 December 2011, against Dan Ellis of the Anaheim Ducks.

Due to an NHL lockout, he started the 2012 _13 season with his youth team, SC Bern.

He returned to the stage for the Predators on February 25^th, 2013, and scored a career-high four points, which were two goals and two assists.

Josi re-signed his contract with the Predators on October 2019 for an extension, his extension contract would see him earning $ 72.47 million.

His contract will extend through 2027 _28, he would be earning $9.059 million per season.

In a statement, Poile said, “Roman Josi is one of the top defensemen in the National Hockey League and our team leader as captain”.

Josi’s contract isn’t just for show, his skills have earned him where he is today, and he has matched his career high in goals.

In 2018 _19 he became the first defenseman in the Predators’ history to record four seasons with at least 50 points.

He has had 41 assists and scored 15 goals, making him the seventh among NHL defensemen.

Josi became the first defenseman to score 90 points in a single season since Ray Bourque which was set in the 1993_94 season.
